If youre talking in a community on an instance thats still federated with one of them you still don't see their posts
Each instance stores its own copy of a post for its site members to view
Some threads in lemmy.ml when looked at from lemmy.world have a bunch of comments not visible due to this
RSS feeds arent affected by this, hidden communities being hidden is handled by the UI and things that dont take that into account still see posts as normal

Saw the author tooting about this project on Mastodon and I wanted to share it with everyone here.
We’ve all been there. You get to the end of a game jam and realise you need to set up an Itch page asap, or you’re wrapping up a long term project and you’re too burnt out to have the energy to even think.
This is a template pack that aims to take that pesky thinking out of the process. Just follow the template dimensions for the various images on your Itch page, and that’s one less thing to worry about and one more thing helping you stand out from all those unloved pages out there.

Yeah I just edited the post to do a quick example
Just means that instead of the usual blue purple gradient communities all have their own color scheme to separate them from each other
ex. the godot icon may have the godot colors, functional programming will have an orange gradient, etc.
yeah can likely have a theme along those lines
most jams have the community talk and show off their stuff in discord but I was thinking that could all be handled within the fediverse with people showing off their progress in lemmy mastodon and kbin and then have some megathreads in lemmy for quicker discussion about it
Yeah some game jams would be great and would be a nice way to bring some people to the community here as well! I can run a poll to see what people prefer in terms of running general jams or ones for the mix and jam games
