Sure, ill edit the ones I did to do that
Posting for Vaporek since they cant do a lemmy post
lemmygrad isnt defederated from but many of their communities are hidden from the feeds by default (so you dont see them unless you subscribe to them)
same thing for some other instances like lemmynsfw
ones that are more recent wont be hidden since I havent been able to due to the issues but I should be doing another hiding round soon
No votes or comments were connected to the duplicates but yeah if there was some you would move it over to the other one
The posts that had comments were the posts that were uniquely on the other community and those moved over with the post when I updated the community of the post
Yeah they appear in the feeds. So people primarily use it through sub and local sorts atm
it cant have the same slug, just for the idea of remaking
it doesnt fully break communities, you just cant look at the page for the community and new people cant sub (but they can still be posted and read from). humor has still been active with posts while broken
next downtime hopefully should be soon to do another round of fixes
Theoretically remaking the community is the exact same as moving it to another instance since new communities arent affected. Everythings been getting worked on openly in the support channel on discord/matrix so if anyone wants to help can help get things fixed there
There was some maintenance to try to fix things but things ended up not being resolved so had to be rolled back and there should be another maintenance period in the future again
Been getting worked on and people have been figuring out how best to fix the issue
Community creation has been open for awhile, theres no community applications anymore
Might as well go first :) I've currently been working on the modding system + base mechanics for a platformer game I've been making
The ultimate goal for the modding system is to let people be able to easily add new content to the game. I've separated out data and behaviors so that mods can override variables by just making a text file with the same variable name inside (to easily change things such as movement speed for a character) and they can make a new file in a category to add a new object such as a new character, weapon, etc.
I've got a hot reloading system in place where people can change something in the text files or they can change a sprite and then it gets reflected in game without needing to boot it up again for easily tweaking values while testing
And I've got the ability to easily add some new weapons based on parameters set in the txt files (all of these weapons are made using 1 txt file and 1 script file for each of them (just for basic behaviour changes) and then rest is all generalized into the same weapon framework
images for showing it off https://imgur.com/a/lBdZTwl (imgur is showing an nsfw warning for some reason but its not applicable to this)
edit: I linked one image instead of all of them
