With the amount of "recommendation" they are shoving into our face I wouldn't be surprised they intentionally neglected the history search function because they want you to watch new stuff, preferably the garbage they are pushing to you.

And to top it all off, I can’t even find the video I want because YouTube ruined the actual fucking search by polluting it with literally and intentionally irrelevant garbage after like 4 results

Their intention can't get more obvious that that, isn't it?

h-VN makers have been dropping like flies since 2010s as well. The golden age of "old school" Japanese h-game had long passed since late 2000s and it's just depressing now.

One of the few Japanese 3D h-game developer and has been around forever (not anymore). I haven't been in the loop of 3D h-game for some time around but I've played a few from them almost 15 years ago. Sad to see a familiar old name fading into the history.

it makes brrrr sounds

It's normal and expected that a HDD makes noise when it reads/writes data. If it sounds like these it should be fine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJM8rHfsgjk

it also takes a while

If you are comparing it to an SSD, a longer response time is expected. If your file manager freezes for seconds whenever you open a folder. That's probably a bit too slow.

I was hoping if the drive was to fail, at least it would give some sign. Well it did emitted some bad block error in the logs but I never noticed them, then it went clicking this morning.

I'm still too cheap to buy SSD for data hoarding purpose so I'll keep rolling with platter for a bit longer. Just ordered a HGST.

After checking the logs I realized that drive has been spitting bad block error for the last two months but I never noticed it, not even checking the SMART numbers. This one is full on me :(. Check your logs and backup, folks.

They are literally blocking single user's self-hosted instances for whatever reason lol.

People keep praising federation and decentralization and yadda yadda yadda without noticing the elephant in the room: The owner of an instance can block other instances, therefore denying its users from contents solely because they choose to do so.

This is extremely problematic for me because an instance is not only a community by itself, but also supposed to be a window into the Fediverse for its users. For those who came from Reddit, can you imagine using a reddit third party client only to find out they don't allow you to view certain subreddits for whatever reason?

Huge respect to Burggit for having the ball to run a truly "safe and diverse" space for the Fediverse dwellers.
