Because for big SaaS (international) companies, managing your own infrastructure can be hard or borderline impossible. Each country has regulation regarding data centers, each must have disaster recovery and scheduled backup, each must have redundancy to the max, and many other things to consider when hosting on your own infrastructure. Meanwhile you can use that money to pay developers instead of paying someone to wrestle with server stuff.

Yeah, I just think that maybe, just maybe, if MacOS is also inspired by UNIX, making a compat layer is not that big of a difference. Because MacOS supports a lot of productivity programs that may attract professionals to Linux too. Mostly adobe suite.

You are allowed wtf. If the plugin author didn't distribute it elsewhere, it's on them. MS doesn't forbid them from uploading the extension build elsewhere, they just wanted their marketplace not getting requests from not-their-client which is a fair point for a for profit company.

The second premise is very dependent on the algorithm and the hardware itself. "Faster" can be very different when parallelization comes into play. Baring that, ASIC's also a thing. Also, Moore's law has not been very relevant since around 2020? The new Moore's law is power efficiency and not transistor density. Say for example, we've peaked at 5GHz on a single core performance with x86 ISA. Then the next step is how to reduce the power consumption for the same 5GHz.

Now, the readme mentioned about using Argon2id. A cpu-memory-hard function. So you are also limited by the theoretical maximum memory that you could allocate to crack the puzzle faster.

For NAT, there is apparently a way to traverse NAT. I haven't tried it tho, but the dude has a lot of research on the topic (NAT traversal), so if that didn't work, maybe others will

Oh sorry, I was talking about measuring C rather than 2C (since that is the only way we can get C, IIRC, you cannot measure C directly since SOME information must be conveyed when measurement begins AND ends, hence 2C). For C in a gravitational field, I have no idea but I suspect it will have something to do with relativity and time dilation if it has any effect at all.

Yeah, sometimes computer can act normal (boot and everything) but the system has somehow become unstable. Sometimes that means there is improper hardware installation, or in embedded system, something is nearing its end of life due to defect or other myriad of factor.
