What happened to one tool that does one thing well? If deno wanted to have HMR and all the good stuff the author mentioned, then Deno, with however much the maintainer count is, MUST prioritize and make compromise. But with every tool being a separate project, it is easier to make changes and to gather maintainer because of how broad range the tool application is compared to a single monolithic tool.

However, we do see a difference in Bun approach. It brings ALL the good stuff Deno does AND compatibility with Node from the get go. So the developer of course would flock there. Because the tooling works. Ironing out kinks of the tool is much easier than entirely severing compatibility in the name of progress.

By your logic type PD spec is stupid because it is also used in PC. The use cases extend beyond PC. Think video wall system where cabling can be messy and pretty much everyone got their own standard. This would allow a single daisy chain and simpler cabling.

But I disagree that bleeding edge means you are an alpha tester. That means developers are releasing alpha willy nilly. I'd even argue that at a certain pace of Hardware and Software development, the latest version of software you have the better, since it has a certain possibility that the Hardware will already be supported.

I think I mixed my opinion because of my other comments. I just realized that when reading which comment thread I am replying to (about "some job requires more skill")

My point is that I don't think we need a word to describe the difference "level" of skill since I believe there is no "level" of skill but a different skill is just that. Different skill. Being good and passing the hurdle to be able to do surgery doesn't translate to being good at flipping burgers. Alright, some skills require more hurdles than others to be acquired but it doesn't mean one skill is "better" than the other. More rare or more "valuable" sure, but not in the sense of hierarchy. I.e, flipping burgers is a "lower" skill than surgery.
