this overloads a handful of names, like the "client side routing" really confused me for a second there, I kept trying to fit in actual csr until I realized what it had done. not sure if they've just heard the terms before out of context or if it's llm slop.

for reference, I've commonly seen this as backend for frontend (bff) in architecture discussions

yeah but like, his other comments are purely inflammatory, there's even a "you can't hold me accountable, I was quoting the bible!" line

sorry, entirely unrelated to the original post, just bothered me that this guy was being discussed in a positive light lol

things like oauth, binary websockets, loads of headers, etc all are way worse in curl than others. postman is terrible but there are plenty of other gui/cli options

no, there are dedicated keycodes for copy and paste, and you can bind them to whatever

yeah that should just be a pip package instead, then install it any normal way

bc nu does everything pwsh does, but without the odd and verbose syntax. their exceptions and error codes are two different systems and don't make sense by default. instead of making shell cmds easy to parse I find myself having to use dotnet versions of things, which would be fine if the syntax for that wasn't so terrible. nu still feels like a unix shell for the most part.

pwsh has its place, especially since it's default. I've written plenty of pwsh scripts at work for ci and the like. I can get over the verbose naming in a text editor. using it from a repl isn't my favorite experience

on one hand I agree. on the other, google has historically been afraid of the verb to google becoming generic, so of course I'd like to see that happen.

I think the middle ground is say google it, but make it clear you mean google it on an alternative search engine

there is the democratic socialists of america that have a handful of elected officials, oddly not including bernie. it seems like they're more of a sub party or organization within the dems though, not their own party

You know, in recent weeks it’s become clear to me that I needed to unite my party in this critical endeavor. I believe my record as president, my leadership in the world, my vision for America’s future all merited a second term, but nothing, nothing can come in the way of saving our democracy, and that includes personal ambition.

So I’ve decided the best way forward is to pass the torch to a new generation. That’s the best way to unite our nation. I know there is a time and a place for long years of experience in public life, but there’s also a time and a place for new voices, fresh voices, yes, younger voices, and that time and place is now.

extensions tend to be the slow part in my experience. after a couple heavy extensions on an already struggling work laptop I'll frequently outpace it's input handling and have to wait for it to catch up

This is utah though, a state mostly controlled by mormons. The mormon families I know take all their kids' electronics before they are to go to bed, and don't give them back until the morning, some incl 18yo in high school. Monitoring everything they look at to make sure they don't see anything that could make them question their beliefs is common

This is just them pushing the strict control all the hyper religious families in utah already exercise onto everyone else, like all the other silly laws in utah

yes, it doesn't run plasma when it's in big picture, it runs it in https://github.com/ValveSoftware/gamescope along with other tweaks, so it's lower overhead and game windows tend to behave better

it also handles updates to os as well as to steam so you don't ever end up with an update that breaks steam, they're always in sync
