there are profiles in yakuake that can include theme if you didn't know about them. not automatic assignment to each tab but if you have a fixed set of tasks you want a tab for it'd work

this overloads a handful of names, like the "client side routing" really confused me for a second there, I kept trying to fit in actual csr until I realized what it had done. not sure if they've just heard the terms before out of context or if it's llm slop.

for reference, I've commonly seen this as backend for frontend (bff) in architecture discussions

yeah but like, his other comments are purely inflammatory, there's even a "you can't hold me accountable, I was quoting the bible!" line

sorry, entirely unrelated to the original post, just bothered me that this guy was being discussed in a positive light lol

knowing the programming language you're working in at a basic level is gatekeeping I'm ok with

I do think they should have taken an approach similar to prettier and gofmt. very minimal settings and opinionated so all js/go codebases are effectively the same formatting

the trend of serverless means that people are writing a ton more programs that are smallish single endpoint things. not that a ton of people are using java there, but that was a major motivation for c#

yeah that should just be a pip package instead, then install it any normal way

there is the democratic socialists of america that have a handful of elected officials, oddly not including bernie. it seems like they're more of a sub party or organization within the dems though, not their own party

some of them are also less bot detection and more spam limiting and mitigation. cloudflare's has more stuff built in I'm sure, but things like mCapcha are just proof of work, so if you're trying to make a bunch of accounts or whatever, it's really computationally expensive.

the calligra suite works fine too. open office is basically dead and replaced by libreoffice. I don't know if any development is still happening. I can't name another office suite Wayland or otherwise though

xwayland does just work though. I don't even know how to explicitly run something under it

explicit flags are more of a problem, but they're going away slowly, and for the most part people can just let things run under xwayland instead of dealing with flags. there are some apps that just won't work, but for the most part it's not a widespread issue in my experience

try running them in gamescope, eliminates a lot of that type of problem

There is some surprising behavior with some of the features of yaml, mostly arising from the fact that it looks nice to read. Here's a list of things that you can avoid to avoid a lot of the pitfalls: https://hitchdev.com/strictyaml/why/ . I haven't actually used strictyaml, but the arguments it presents are pretty solid and some are things I've run into in real environments
