I'm not sure to what extent anymore, but theia does depend on some vscode components, at least monaco. it's a little distance but still the same family.
yeah, it's a setting in the official rpi imager nowadays
pre commit hook and ci task. even with common formatters like prettier I do that on anything somewhat large
4 to 5 added like 2 tags, but was fully backwards compatibile. the painful upgrade you're thinking of was 3 to 4 where they basically rewrote, it but don't have any tutorial content other than one of the main devs making an absurdly long series of walkthrough videos so it's impossible to find the topic you're interested in
no, it's still a smoother experience ootb for things like c# desktop apps. in vscode you don't get a wysiwig wpf designer and such, and xaml completion is worse to non existent.
It does seem to be a newer dev thing though, myself and my jr devs use vscode as much as we can and jump back to VS only when necessary, the older devs on my team are all 100% visual studio and will be forever
is there compositor support? is there a way to get kde to rotate my monitor to a specific degree via cli?
keep in mind I have no idea if there are real use cases for diagonal monitors, I just duct taped an accelerometer to the back of my monitor and can only get it to rotate in 90 degree increments with kscreendoctor and thought it would be funny if the picture was just always upright
after a brief glance it looks like it, but that's the same case as x over ssh. otherwise there's things like vnc that wouldn't care what each side is running
I just set up grocy for this, no smart fridge needed. I have a barcode scanner, then scan everything I buy, and again when I use it
as someone that forgets that they're in the middle of doing laundry frequently, it was great getting notifications when it was done. I rented a place for a bit that had a smart washer, I actually really miss that.
maintenance and such I'm sure were worse, and I'd much rather it be all local and have open apis, but fundamentally, having a connected washer is actually really nice
I've tried vibration sensors on the current not connected wadher, but I can't get anything reliable enough to be useful
I feel like mouse heavy games aren't too bad as long as they work with the touchscreen
I haven't tried it since it was a separate version, but I didn't notice any issues at all

how does this compare with something like the vouch system, possibly with some sort of federated mechanism, so you could choose which list of users to trust
