it was coming from the original package publisher. tanstack was cache poisoning via pr, so no account credentials were stolen but it was published as a normal update

you shouldn't be able to tell if someone used ai to write something. if you can then it is bad code. they're not talking about getting completion on a fn, they're talking about letting an agent go and write chunks of the project.

mine gives this panel if I turn it off. I imagine that second switch does what you want

early js/html liked to do something in all cases instead of throwing or whatever. I think it's mostly just a collection of them trying to do something smart on nonsense input and not being consistent about it.

side note, I'm so excited for Temporal, some browsers already support it and you can polyfill for the rest.

there are other shells that have all the nice powershell things without the weird stuff (at least for not windows people), like nushell

although I wouldn't be surprised if powershell was the thing that started the trend of better shells

gitea has had some organizational problems so a lot of people have been using forgejo instead, which is just a community fork of gitea plus some more features

most things seem to have settled on this, but tabs are so much better for accessibility. programmers with bad vision can have trouble differentiating smaller indentation levels, while some of them just bump the font size up so high that 4 spaces takes up too much screen space. each one can set a tab width that is comfortable for them. https://alexandersandberg.com/articles/default-to-tabs-instead-of-spaces-for-an-accessible-first-environment/ has some good arguments

with a forced formatter and a configured editor there really isn't any argument for spaces

Why would I need to remember an ip address if I have a hostname? I don't know my ipv4 anywhere since it's all dynamic.

Standards like those change just fine. Sure some stuff uses ascii still, but almost everything I encounter is unicode. Email has had so many things added on over the years that that's not a fair comparison either. Other countries have plenty of kb layouts that are more popular locally than qwerty but came afterwards.

At some point ipv6 will be the default and we'll just use compatibility layers to access ipv4 only things. We don't need every device on board, just the ISPs

This is just misinformed.

Sure your favorite apps may not use it, but Wayland does provide protocols for drawing things over other apps. https://wayland.app/protocols/wlr-layer-shell-unstable-v1

I never used guake with i3 since scratchpads exist and are the general solution, and sway works fine there.

and there's plenty of screenshot apps that work. I haven't tried gnome-screenshot, but I find it hard to believe that it or some alternative gnome one doesn't work given the effort the project has put into Wayland

nvidia support isn't great but it is getting better. I haven't bought nvidia in forever but I know plasma and gnome both say they have support for Wayland on nvidia now.

For gaming amd is great, for real work I'd just rent time on some cloud service lol. If I'm that worried about performance my one consumer gpu isn't going to make a dent either
