Don’t know why you’re being piled on. I’ve been on Reddit since the bad old days and I’ve only been temp banned (from certain subs at that) once, maybe twice lol. New accounts every yearish, fought about politics, called people names I probably shouldn’t have… I dunno what people are doing to catch all these bans.

It’s a corporate hellscape nowadays but there have always been rules about decorum.

I feel like it’s turning into a genuine schism in our society. The “it’s fine, I just deal with it”s and the “I swear to fucking god I’ll burn it all down before I see/hear a single goddamn ad”s.

The Time Machine needs to be remade with this in mind.

They’re consolidating their marketshare and decreasing cost through every method available to increase revenue. All the avenues of piracy have just become the lowest hanging fruit now that these companies aren’t growing anymore.

IDK what exactly you’re not understanding but I suspect it’s the difference between a gift and a purchase. The US will not be purchasing this 50% stake in OpenAI with additional money. It will be free. It was technically paid for with all the (not public) IP they used to create these models in the first place.

When you get something in return for nothing, that something is always a positive value even if it’s just a fraction of what it started as.

I’m with you, just pointing out the barriers.

There’s no free bandwidth just sitting around and waiting to be exploited, Internet 2.0 will have to be discreet or expensive.

There is no “investing”, they stole the IP so they owe the People a 50% stake. If the whole company is only worth $100 in a year then the American people will get to split the last $50 amongst ourselves, not be on the hook for bailing out yet another failure.
