Damn, that’s quite the thought spiral. Like, I can see how the train of thought gets there eventually, but holy cow. There are guys out here who give negative fucks and openly treat women horribly - leering, rude comments, groping, etc. Someone going “hey, your dress looks nice!” or “hey, if you’re ever interested in coffee or a drink, here’s my number” and not being weird about it is a completely different thing.

How often is a misguided approach really ruining men’s lives though? I’m kinda struggling to imagine an approach to giving a compliment or asking someone out that can be polite, respectful, and well-intended, but still go so off the rails as to wind up on social media and ruin a guy’s life
Yeehaw! And today is my shot dayyyyyy
Gotta wait til I get home from work though
Amazing, congrats! I'm so glad it went well for you 😊
Amazing, thank you so much! Especially the tip about practicing in the car, I have a long commute rn, and it’s harder for me to make the time when I’m at home, so I’m definitely going to give that a try
Do you have any particular resources for voice training that you’d recommend? I feel like I need to find a teacher, but I can only imagine that would be pretty expensive
Are you doing okay? Kinda seems like you’re looking for a fight, and I’m not really interested in that. I hope your day gets better!
I don’t expect wage slaves to fight for me? Though I have a hard time imagining that someone would get fired over gendering a trans person correctly, and I don’t think expecting someone to use the right pronouns in a customer service environment is unreasonable.
Regardless, the woman in question was another customer making an unsolicited comment, not an employee.
One book that I found helpful, that I think is what you’re getting at, was Anarchy Works by Peter Gelderloos
We’re anarchists, so of course some people will have critiques and feel differently than he does, but I think it’s a pretty accessible overview that addresses some of your questions
I’m using my ICE car until it’s dead, but this is what I’ve got my eye on as a replacement (used, of course)
Yeah, the lady who went “skincare is so important for women and men” when my wife and I were looking at makeup the other day had no issue ignoring all that is femme about me just based on my voice
I’ve been trying to teach myself with YouTube and having a really hard time, thank you for mentioning Undead Voice! I am exactly the kind of person it’s for lol. Unfortunately I probably can’t afford it while I’m still doing my laser treatments, I guess it’s time to start saving up
