Thank you I was literally just looking for one following a Philosophy Tube episode I watched the other day!! 😊 any tips for discovering channels?

Yea I wasn't saying it would replace everything in cryptpad. Just the forms.

As I said in the post, I find cryptpad to be clunky, slow, and inconsistently mobile-friendly. I also hear this constantly in my organizing spaces. Having more privacy-centered alternatives and building on what exists is also just a net good... All the eggs don't need to be in one basket yfm

I feel like everyone I know has been lookin for cryptpad alternatives (upon ditching google) as it's incredibly slow, clunky, and inconsistantly mobile-friendly. this ... seems good??

anyone tried it? what are yr experiences? other decent, private form builders you would recommend?

tysm!!

I do this with an old phone on wifi. I don't think it's a huge deal. I use fetch and haven't seen any ads or credit card offers etc. you just exchange points for gift cards. I know it's probably harvesting some data from me, but I don't really use that phone for much else, and I use a VPN/not my real email.

the ads have been increasingly annoying for me. still always looking for solutions to this enshitification.

thank you! yea it's really weird that it was going to "localhost" that's what was tripping me up. I tried changing locations of the VPN and that seems to have worked for now, but I don't really get why. computers, man.

thanks for checking...I'm extremely confused!

[-] copyscam@lemmy.ml 2 points 8 months ago

that's what I'm confused about. when I turn off my VPN, it loads normally, without changing any settings within the browser or computer/phone.

saw a sticker recently that said "there is no cloud, just other people's computers"

edit: I changed my location and that seems to have worked for now. still a strange thing that it was localhost and not "site blocked" or something if my location was the issue. my VPN (ExpressVPN) was set to NJ. I switched to Toronto. ___ 🤷

hi all!!

has anyone else had this issue and been able to fix it? it happens on any browser (vivaldi, brave, lightning, vivandium...), phone or desktop, if I'm connected to my VPN.

I'm using startpage specifically because it's supposed to be privacy-focused... I don't want to keep disconnecting my VPN every time I have to make a search.

(internet connection is working perfectly and no issues with other sites)

(I have some other search engines I use for specific things, but looking to troubleshoot this if anyone knows the solution...)
