Are you sure about ICAO? Feels more like an IATA kind of thing to me …?

I used to have my shopping list on my phone. Replaced that by a whiteboard on the fridge, which is much less cumbersome to use (seriously, typing on a phone nowadays is almost worse than back in the T9 days). Before I go shopping, I just snap a picture with my phone.

I can see how that might be a deal breaker for some applications. Good to know that there are alternatives around!

Illustrator → Inkscape

Lightroom → Darktable/CaptureOne/Rawtherapee

They may need some getting used to if you come from adobe, but they are all very capable.

Chinese home cooking is great for this. One of my favourites:

  • Cook some sort of long noodles. You can go fancy with this, but spaghetti are fine.
  • for each person, put a bit of soy sauce at the bottom of something like a large cereal bowl, add warm-ish noodles.
  • put a little pile of thinly sliced scallion greens and chili flakes on top.
  • heat some vegetable oil to almost smoking and carefully pour it over — just enough to fry the chili and greens, and lightly coat the noodles.

Quick and simple, super tasty (and even vegan friendly if that matters to you).
