It definitely depends on the career field but with an in demand career field, you'll occasionally get hit up with people who think you fit a job description.

I think if you can work with a job agency to try and find more general positions if you're not seeing a lot of recruitment for your career

[–] dastanktal@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Working with recruiters seems to be the best way to find new positions right now

Blueray if the game is under 128 GBs.

This looks an awful lot like what a gyroscope looks like when it's moving.

It's not like his government is actually doing anything.

What have they done so far? Lay down their arms and encourage Hezbollah to do the same?

We know exactly what would happen if they were to do that. Israel would just roll over them and steal whatever they want from Lebanon with impunity the way they're trying to do now.

Edit:

US-backed President Aoun

We shouldn't believe a fucking word out of his lying mouth.

[–] dastanktal@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Oh I don't think like that. As I said if things continue the way they are the US is going to collapse. Thats a good thing from an anti-imperalist perspective. Blue or Red administration it does not matter; they don't care and continue to keep things as they are or make things worse through clampdowns.

I want the masses to riot because that will be the beginning of the fall of the US government but until that happens the US government will act with impunity and that fucking sucks.

Edit:

The middle east is a shit show of the US' making but it's too early to tell if the roosters are really coming to roost or if the Epstein Class will wiggle their way out of it somehow.

[–] dastanktal@lemmy.ml 23 points 2 months ago (4 children)

Does he? At this point, unless the people begin to fucking riot, nothing is gonna change In the next few years. US is going to continue going down the shitty path it's currently on.

Suppose that's pretty good for the rest of the world though.

I will be so fucking happy when this dude is no longer the governor. What a goddamn disappointment. He's been nothing but hostile to the working class movement since he got into office. I mean, the writing was on the wall, but that was before my deprogramming had even started.

People are thinking he's angling to be a presidential candidate, but with this boneheaded move, who the fuck knows what he's trying to accomplish now? Maybe he's trying to push for the third way candidacy? Who knows?

So we just hired a contractor. We wanted a mid level devops like engineer that can handle cleanup tasks that we are far behind on. Grunt work, mostly like cleaning up terraform repos, adjusting configuration to comply with audits.

What we go instead is a highly pushy dude who really wants to push us to a specific stack architecture.

Right now we use a pretty old but standard setup of public lb to nginx, to app load-balancer to our app servers.

We want to move to Kubernetes but there have been some roadblockers with the way this app location is configured.

He's been trying to push us to move to a tool chain that uses terragrunt and terraform to deploy kubernetes and argocd.

We finally agreed to let him do what he wanted, and the very first thing he asked for is a separate AWS account, and the ability to register two top-level domains through Route 53.

Myself and management talked about it and while we understand the requirement for the AWS account, and how does complicate network infrastructure, we're a bit concerned about why he wants to register two new domains to work with.

I've been doing this for almost 10 years now, and I've read all of the documentation for these tools, and while I haven't used argocd and Terragrunt, I don't see any reason why they could not work with us to use one of our pre-existing domains.

But one word signals it’s more than just that — Omar’s mention of “defensive” capabilities also serves as a pointed critique of one of her closest colleagues and ideological allies in the House: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Newest Hasbara just dropped. Get it while its hot

The Dinah Project had to come up with an entirely new standard for evidence to continue to claim sexual violence perpetrated by Hamas on October 7, 2023.

This is the cold water tank in my living room and the minnows love to congregate here when the Sun Shines on the tank corner

Some people would call this an infestation.

I call this a good start.

This is one of the fish tanks at one of the local fish stores that I like to go to

Here's some additional shots of the various fish in the tank:

This is a living dinosaur known as an African butterfly fish. Wikipedia Entry These guys have been around for some time and are the only surviving species of their genre. The closest living relative is an Arowana and these guys have a similar looking mouth and body structure.

As for Behavior they don't actually do much. They spend a lot of time pretending to be a leaf and hiding and waiting to Ambush pray as their Ambush predators. They're wild caught when you buy them from the store as they are extremely difficult to breed in captivity. It can be done but it is rare.

Since the Wild Caught you'll probably need to start them off on a diet of Live Food if you intend to keep them. I started mine on crickets and I was able to switch him to a form of cichlid sticks that are used to feed arowanas that float. They are picky about their dry food though so good luck on that.

Overall I've had them for a year and have found him to be really forgiving despite my newish aquarium mistakes. He has survived both massive general hardness increases and massive pH drops. They are unbelievably tough.

I don't know if you can see this but those fins are made for flying. You need a tight fitting lid or they will jump from the tank. They're also both a weird contradiction to kind of own. They need a lot of cover near the top of the water line but they like to have spots of Open Water. So you cannot just put in floating plants and call it a day. You need to remove enough of them but there's open spots of water for him to poke his head out to eat food. He also has a very hard time eating when there are floating plants around him.

Here in this picture he's waiting for food because it's feeding time. They are very intelligent. He does not run for me anymore when I stick my hands in the water to try and feed him as long as I don't spook him.

He's one of my favorite fish I've ever owned. Currently he lives in a bog Style fish tank with a ton of floating plants up top but lots of open spots of water for him to poke his head out. The pH in this tank is around 5.5 with a KH level of 0 and a GH of 5°.

This has got to be one of the dumbest betta fish I've Ever Raised. Can't figure out where the food is but I know he can see things and he's just kind of bad at eating in general he likes to jump out of the water. To be fair this is the first I ever got from like a reputable breeder normally when I keep Petco bettas

Full tank shot:

Wanted to a include a better picture of the white sale thing in this tank who looks absolutely Majestic.

Bonus pics:

This tank has no filter and no heater. It reads zero on all levels. GH/KH 5 deg. Working on pushing higher

One of the tanks I am working on and intend to post pictures of when I can get some good ones is my "cold water" no filter walstd tank. I designed it specifically for a community of dwarf crayfish to live alongside Rosy Red Minnows and zebra danios. Thought you guys would appreciate a better picture of one of these crayfish who is in good health.

Here are some additional behaviors of these guys interacting

Picture of mating:

Pictures in the tank

He was dying. He had been on his back for 24 hours. I picked him up out of the fish tank and he could barely move. I dropped him in this fish tank in the pipes so that he could find some protection from the mollies.

And he bounced right back. He's still a little slow but he's making his way around the tank on all of his legs now. And he's able to give off enough of the threat display that the Molly's leave him alone.

I really need to go through and figure out all of the parameters of this tank.

Got these guys about a month ago and have tried to move them to a couple of my various tanks in my house and they always struggle so for now they live in the magic quarantine box that keeps everything alive.

I also got a dwarf crayfish I threw in my cold water tank where there are other dwarf crayfish living. And it started having serious struggles so I put it in this tank and it popped right back up and seems to be doing okay.

The secret is apparently a tablespoon of sea salt for every 3 gallons of water....

Stupid magic mystery box that seems to keep everything alive.
