Defendants are in an urgent post trial window where they need to be in contact with their lawyers who are filing motions. This is primarily done through tablets, which are currently mostly broken. There are 40 people in the pod and only 2 tablets with video capability. We need the facility to fix the broken tablets so that our people can get adequate legal counsel in preparation for crucial deadlines this week.
Yesterday, Rowan was targeted and moved out of general population, where they've been advocating and fundraising in solidarity with their codefendants and with the other incarcerated people held there. The facility is now keeping them in med seg, and potentially exposing them to respiratory illnesses. Call now to demand they end this political persecution and return Rowan safely to gen pop.
Whatever the verdict, we know this is just the beginning. With state charges, more defendants, and potential appeals on the horizon, we must continue the fight to defend our loved ones and our movements. All eyes on the Prairieland trial!
JOIN US TOMORROW FOR A PROTEST OUTSIDE THE COURTHOUSE- our final say before the jury deliberates. Don't let political repression win! it is right to rebel against ICE!

PRAIRIELAND FEBRUARY 17 TRIAL UPDATES
What this means for the case is still unclear, though we know this will mean a significant delay, if only even a week, for defendants who have suffered terrible jail conditions while awaiting trial.
More details about the trial as well as ways to show up for defendants will be provided as they become available.

3/26 UPDATE
The jail claimed Rowan was moved back to gen pop, which is false. This morning, we heard from Rowan confirming they're still in med seg.
The jail's other claim that Rowan was moved for "security reasons" is against jail standards, per Texas Jail Project. The jail's reasoning is clearly based on their desire to punish Rowan.
Please keep calling to pressure to the jail to move Rowan back to gen pop!
