What part of it is unprofessional? You specifically called out the language OP used - that seems totally professional to me. The overall message sounds like throwing a tantrum to my ears but that’s not what you called out. How do you think it should be worded?

PR size is an awful metric. The bigger the PR, the less reviewable it is.

We need better distributed connectivity. It wouldn’t be that hard to build a project management system (issues, etc) on top of Git, but DVCS only gets you so far without a way to connect directly to the other contributors.

What you’re comfortable with as a contributor is irrelevant. What matters is whether you understand the maintainers’ intent and whether the people you’re interacting with think you’re acting like a dick. Someone who’s bad at understanding how other people feel will likely be bad at predicting what behavior will come across as being a dick.

I didn't say never copy and paste. I'm saying when you push a commit you should understand what all the LOC in that commit do (not counting vendored dependencies). If you don't understand how something works, like crypto (not sure what Hamilton or Euler refers to in this context), ideally you would use a library. If you can't, you should still understand the code sufficiently well to be able to explain how it implements the underlying algorithm. For example if you're writing a CRC function you should be able to explain how your function implements the CRC operations, even if you don't have a clue why those operations work.

If I steal code and release it with an open source license, that license is not valid. The author released his work open source based on an email from AMD. AMD is now saying that email was not legally binding thus the author did not have the right to release it under and open source license thus that license was not legally valid. If you had forked it and continued to use it, AMD could take you to court and say that the license you are operating under is legally invalid.
