Depends how you look at it. You could have a couple hundred million, and then if you add a single billion you still "only" have "about a billion" the difference between a million and a billion is crazy.

I've had this idea as well, and I definitely see some benefits though as stated in the thread by someone else, most admins would want to be on a groups instance and not a users instance and I'm not sure how to combat that. The thought that occurred to me was a lemmy federation compatible community only instance server that could augment the current thrediverse landscape. Essentially making it easier to spin up a community for your topic than it is to spin up a while new instance. It would still be easiest to just make a community on your main user instance but it would introduce a new difficulty level for communities to run separate without standing up a whole Lemmy instance.

Folks drive at what they feel is a safe speed for themselves. The posted speed limit doesn't really seem to impact much, when the road is wide, the lanes are big, and there aren't many turns or traffic calming elements, people will go fast because others are going fast.

That's been my lived experience, and generally is supported by research that its road design more than anything that dictates speed.

You can definitely 'chat' with copilot, like other llms as well as the inline editor auto complete.

Ability to zero in on location is definitely the thing that keeps me on the platform. I can't say its always cheaper, it maybe in some cases but its often equal or higher than a budget hotel in my experience. The fact that I can get a unit with a kitchen and within walking distance of a few of my planned vacation activities is the reason I check it out.

Yes you can. Paying for a major upgraded version is the alternative to an evergreen subscription, but allows you to milk more usage out of your purchase if you don't need the latest and greatest.
