When I was a kid, there was a cat in the neighborhood named “green bean” for just this sort of thing. My cat is more of a celery cat.

I don’t really know anyone here. I know some names. I’ll say hi to anyone I pass. People here seem to go for walks but seem to think it’s polite to cross the street if they see another person. Tbh, I would pick another place to live if everything else was the same and social climate was warmer.

The same as most mondays, tbh. Monday always finds me overwhelmed, stressed out, and looking for ways to simplify my life. Every week there’s some added chaos. This week I have a cough and don’t feel well. Probably allergies. Maybe viral. I guess no yard work for a couple of days. Or minimal, masked yard work. I have some flower starts that i want transplanted asap

That is a funny observation. I’m not sure it holds up here. But it is a type of marketing i see. Water bottle sizes here are chaotic. I commonly see anywhere between .5l and 1.3l.

I’m American and specifically noticed the omission of sigg. I haven’t seen them sold here in years. But it was a distinct phase.

I don’t keep up with trends so much. But when my sigg disappeared, I got a mana? Manaa? Brand. It was just what they had at the store. A couple of weeks later i saw press about it as “the water bottle that can hold an entire bottle if wine.” I can’t say i ever tried it. My primary interest is hydration 😂

Last year I grew onions over winter for the first time. I got seeds specifically for over wintering onions and covered the plants over the winter to keep the snow off. They were ready mid summer. A bit small. But the size of cooking onions I buy from the store. And very little effort. I got a bit of a late start and want to try a different mulching technique this year. So here I go again. I’m using some leftover seeds from last year. As well as another variety that isn’t sold specifically for winter. Just to see how it goes.

This is my first year growing bell peppers. I just have two plants and they’re outside. Two different varieties. They just look so yellow. I wonder whether there’s a nutrient lacking in the soil. Yellow usually makes me think over watering. But these ones haven’t been overwatered, I’m sure of it. I wonder whether it’s just the color they are and they just haven’t hit their growth spurt yet. Or maybe too much sun? I haven’t taken the time to read up on them so until I do, I’ll be patient with them.

Ime some honest people speak the truth but don’t suck up or try to sell it. But are passed by for people who flatter and put on a show.

Garden is good! So much going on. I’m happy yo nerd out about it for a while.

Garlic harvested this morning! 21 heads. I’ll save the biggest to replant in the fall. Last year they didn’t cure. Fungus I presume. Hopefully not an issue this year.

Onions curing complete. Used a ton fresh. Only four smaller onions made it through the curing process. Have fall onion starts growing now!

Peppers - seem small. I will resist adding additional plants. A few hot peppers visible and growing. Sweet peppers seem to be struggling. Yellowish. Never look happy. There are a couple of tiny fruits just now settling. Not sure they’ll be successful.

Lettuce. Spring plants still going strong just started more. I’ll add shade cloth. Maybe tonight. New lettuce plants recently started. Should have done that a month previously.

Herbs. Mostly out. I have one parsley that hasn’t bolted. I need to start more parsley, cilantro, dill. Sage shrubs are doing alright. I want to plant one and give the rest away. I need to decide where to plant mine. Tbh i kinda want them out of here before the fall plants still swap. They look ready to be up potted again. Basil always bolts for me. Ive been pinching it back weekly and using fresh or drying it. I’m getting some nice dense little shrubs!

Tomatoes are going wild. I need to prune them back again. I have a small salad tomato and a large salad tomato rn. Only one paste tomato plant rn. It’s fruits are not ripe yet. I am considering planting another round of paste tomatoes or propagating the plant i have.

I have a few more things but I’m tired of typing 😂Everybody stay safe in your respective heat waves.

Do you live in an area with a functional distribution system? I don’t. Anytime a grasshopper sneezes, my area looses power for 4 days.

I had the same shit with an hp printer. I returned mine though.

I’m really picky about where I buy gas. There ar two places that don’t play ads at the pump and i go there. I worry they’ll change.
