Another one on my pile of shame. I had the Zomb's Lair version on my hard disk for so long that it's probably moldy. I remember a kid at my school being a big fan of it but nobody else had ever played it.

My only problem is that most of her videos are games on my pile of shame, so I can't watch that much of her.

It's folklore and was probably first told among people who had only a shaky grasp on anatomy, but a firm grasp on what organs were considered very important in stories. Think about it: The modern zomby is killed by destroying the brain. This fits our common folk knowledge of anatomy much better than the heart. We consider the heart as nothing more than a blood pump and the brain as the centre of what we are. In former times the heart was seen as much more important, dating back to acient Greek lore who thought the brain was just a cooler for our blood.

In this day and age we have conservative and even far-right openly homosexual politicians who actively work on anti-gay policies. So it seems to me that some people never get their heads out of the closet.

You mean Konrad Dippel? As far as I know it's very much disputed whether Mary Shelly took any inspiration from the folk stories around him.

I can't remember that he use pickled body parts in the novel. Because that's basically what happens to bodies used for anatomy training. The way they are prepared they can be stored at room temperature for weeks, just covered with a damp sheet.

Sorry, but I really doubt that this can happen. I also worked in anatomy, I've seen and felt what the formaldehyde does to tissue. There's no way that preserved muscle tissue can react to the stimulation of a pacemaker.
