I use Chewy. They were able to verify the prescription with my vet and I can reorder as needed.

What is wrong with Google's C++ guide?

[-] hascat@programming.dev 3 points 2 years ago

Exactly. I use 10 at home and at work and have no issues with either. There's no technical reason for anyone to upgrade.

man -k xyz will search for any man page with xyz in it. You can also do man stdio to see what's in the stdio library.

Many years ago, I had forgotten my password to the Sprint websiteb so I could log in and pay my cellular bill. I had to call customer support to resolve this. After verifying my activity, the support agent read me my existing password one letter at a time. While this was alarming, I was amused she had to spell out a somewhat obscene phrase for me. This was maybe 20 years ago and I no longer use Sprint.

Wasn't that the whole point of the creation of Alphabet? That they'd have different business units with their own products?

I think you meant "best part"

Does the existing engine phone home or is that something they're adding?

Death Stranding makes the player think about how to walk over difficult terrain with a large amount of cargo on their back without losing their balance and falling down. Most games allow you to run as far and recklessly as you want without having to worry about falling, so it was interesting to actually have to work at it, at least before you unlock various modes of transportation.

no headphone plug

This used to be something I cared about until I found a bluetooth headset I really like. Going wireless is fantastic, in my opinion.

Are there any good strategies for avoiding painful upgrades?

If you're not already doing so, hold design reviews with your users. Breaking API changes should be communicated early and in a way that makes it clear how the users benefit from the change. If the users don't benefit, you should reconsider why you're making changes in the first place.

Stealth was necessary in the early chapters of Death Stranding. As you get access to better equipment it becomes less necessary, but the early game was definitely the most stressful stealth experience I think I've had in gaming.
