if countries didn't want ukraine to have cluster munitions, maybe they should've sent more support to help them liberate their country and actually get peace

the war on drugs shit that's also part of this system is dumb, but helping local police by picking out the most honest cops to fight animal poaching and human trafficking isn't the most egregious thing ever

disgust at the vast hoarding of wealth and suffering caused by billionaires is one thing, but openly revelling in their death is gross and i wish more people would say it. it often feels like people have a streak of sadism that they want to direct at an "acceptable" target through bloody revolution, rather than being leftist because of compassion for other living beings

for windows-land, powershell is actually nice, it can do a lot of things and isn't dramatically inferior to bash on a linux machine

people seem to have forgotten what the findings of all that complaining about video games and violence from the 90s and 2000s actually were (spoilers, media doesn't have that direct 1 to 1 influence like that)

and there's also that wonderful kurt vonnegut quote about the effect of art on the vietnam war that feels relevant here too...

nah, video is absolutely useful for some things, such as tutorials. i was able to repair my car's mirror very easily using a video guide whereas a written guide likely would have been incomprehensible when describing how to remove the door paneling

I wholeheartedly believe immutable distros like this are the future of desktop linux, even canonical is making a desktop version of their immutable IoT ubuntu

I would not recommend any windows mods like that, what they do is often overwritten by windows updates and takes you back to square one (which, unless your computer never connects to the internet, you should be installing). the better option for "light" windows is to grab an enterprise or education version of windows and set group policy to disable telemetry and various features you don't want/need without ending up with changes that revert themselves if you go the tiny11 route, or with changes that actively compromise security if you go the atlas os route
