Well maybe they have closed since. I agree that RED is one of the best ways to get everywhere fairly directly.

Brokenstones isn't too hard to get in. Over the last year they have been opening official recruitment at many entry-level trackers with minimal requirements. GGn is harder but by no means difficult, but is available in less places. In general you should check lists of official recruitment if you want to get somewhere so you can plan a path.

Nice, I haven't tried their requests. But it is definitely a good place to be if you use Apple stuff in general.

I don't think this is true. I don't see official recruitment, or even unofficial invite offers, going in either direction.

It isn't bad but isn't comprehensive on games and honestly is a bit slow in general these days. And most importantly it doesn't have the game that OP is looking for.

I doubt they are ever going to do open registration. You will want to look at official recruitment routes if you want to get in.

For games in general you are going to want GGn. They have this Rocksmith 2014 the DLC.

Getting in is a bit of a trek though.

MaM is a bit bizarre. But I think it mostly boils down to the open interview process. Since lots of users can easily join it can cause headaches if not managed well. Especially since they have a notable invite forum lots of people will use it as a stepping stone possibly to create multiple accounts on "upstream" trackers through the invite forums. This creates a lot of burden on the staff.

• IP requirements are mostly to avoid duplicate accounts and ban evasion.
• Torrent client requirements are mostly to make cheating harder, but also help reduce support load by banning buggy clients.
• Strict IP seeding rules help mitigate damage from less knowledgeable users leaking their passkey.
• MaM is also quite old and does have a handful of what I would consider "annoying legacy" but I don't think any of it is about elitism.
• The mobile bans are because few mobile clients are good seeders (often online and connectable). This raises support load hugely.

Basically I don't envy the moderators and other staff on MaM. There are tons of relatively inexperienced users "passing through" and they are a big abuse target. So they make strict rules to make policing this easier.

At the end of the day if you don't like it you can not use it. They don't owe you anything.

I hope most people got a screenshot of their profile before they shut down to at least get some apps in other entry-level trackers. But with 1h notice probably not.

FNP was a big tracker and I'm sure a lot of people will miss it but it wasn't really a great tracker. Kami was very jealous and protective, trying to be great by harming other trackers rather than growing together. I'm sure that these people will be able to find better homes that are more part of the private tracker community rather than trying to stand apart and suck in donations.

It is definitely slow, but once you get quite a bit of stuff it isn't that bad. But if you want to easier economy just go for OPS.

You should check out private music trackers. The pirates are literally racing to get new releases up there. Maybe they aren't quite as complete as some music services but I think it would be hard to argue that they aren't keeping up.
