I can't begin to imagine how people like this draw pleasure from life. This sort of evil is so extremely shallow. Have they ever even considered what they will think in their death bed? Or do they also just wanna kill themselves before it gets too bad, a la Hitler?

Who'd guess misusing things can be harmful? Next, we chop off a finger to prove a kitchen knife can be dangerous.

It's the opposite for me. It makes me feel like that universe was created for me.

It's all connected. Countries want to donate less. Supply is smaller, not in small part thanks to Russia's slaughter of Ukraine. The energy crisis that prompted costs rising, again, Russia. Greedy corporations increasing their slices of the pie at record rates at our time of need. Crops increasingly being lost due to the effects of the climate crisis.

Not an exhaustive list, just what comes to mind at this moment.

These problems are still workable but not with the current greed and zero-sum mindsets we get from our own population (e.g. the right in many countries letting out their fascism).

While we argue and fight, millions starve. It's not just a possible outcome, it's already happening. People who refuse to acknowledge the climate crisis, people who support Russia, greedy corporations, etc. Their hands probably haven't been as bloody since the colonial times.

How can you fix anything when you're too busy attacking the LGBT+ community, breaking international immigrant / refugee laws, stealing privacy and civil liberty from your citizens?

They haven't been doing nothing. They have been degrading democracy.

It will be continuously wrecked by heat and storms in the mean time. 100 years is now beyond being only a highly optmistic timeline for these places.

It's like that meme about a high voltage station. It will not only die but suffer a lot while dying.

So we can't have Bezos / Musk compete for world king?
