Thought they were just starting their war on it?
Spiders work fast. They rebuild webs in a matter of hours. It's not a realistic demand.
Though at the time the amount they wanted was not worth the grief so I just moved on. But minor deposit frauds are extremely common and almost always unpunished. Landlords have essentially nothing to lose by trying it, certainly not morals.
There are many arguments to be made here but this isn't one. The money can have conditions attached to it. For example, give an amount now and agree to some target being reached within 6 months and so on.
From my perspective, Singapore is a dystopian shithole I'm glad I wasn't born to.
With that said, it's so common for immigrants to criticise the country they migrate to. And it's usually unfounded. But not always.
The only Singaporeans I knew were heavy travellers. Strong desire to study and work out of their country. Very proud of their country, however. One of them was a friendship I had to end because I couldn't handle the eccentricity and constant showing off.
How many people eat food because they know they need it vs because they just want it. I think chronic boredom is like that but worse and far more subtle. It amplifies a lot of our other issues, such as adhd and obesity.
And I don't think you need to be bored to enjoy good entertainment. Not to mention the industry runs on greed mostly. It would be in their interest that people didn't find the problem as that could lead to people finding a cure. How would e.g. Netflix keep profiting from producing such poor content? How about those who profit so much from feeding ads to our brain dead states?
Until 6-8 weeks have passed in Africa.
All of them basically.

Nah. I look back at Tesla. One of the greatest people to have blessed our planet. Certainly among the top if not the top inventor to have existed. But I don't envy any part of his life.
How about Turing? Another great example. The father of computer science and AI. A great person too. One of the most accomplished human beings, even back when he was alive. I don't envy any part of his life.
I sure have picked unfortunate examples. But these should highlight how success alone isn't enough. I don't think life satisfaction lies in obtaining more, but rather wanting less. If you observe well, you'll notice people living very simple lives and being very happy while at it. How about the wealthiest person, Musk. Does he look satisfied with life and happy? I don't think a happy person would behave that way.
If you have so little, then perhaps you can afford greater risks. If you can't afford greater risks, then perhaps you don't have so little.
Worth it? No. Will I do it again? Yes.
I would take this with a grain of salt. None of the programming languages I have used require this level of in-depth knowledge. Certainly not modern C++.

I have almost no doubt that even current Labour would be a vast improvement.
A government that puts immigrants into boats or tries to ship them to Africa? This is insane. Even if you completely avert your eyes to this humanitarian menace, it makes zero fiscal sense. Current Tories are evil, by the very definition.
