Processing facilities for creating wafers for microprocessors would just need more electricity and some water at industrial levels, perhaps equivalent to what Taiwan uses for its semiconductor industry (yet they have some water supply problems than we do), but a AI data center will consume enormous amounts of electricity and water, which makes these unfeasible in this country.

That in any case, AI is being misused for capricious and unethical purposes, and its source data acquired without consent.

BANCHODE!

AI Mania Is Eviscerating Global Decisionmaking

That and utterly destroying original thinking.

Why I don't celebrity worship, because not only meeting one's idols is a bad idea, but also the possibility of them betraying.

I could be wrong but the Chinese émigrés don’t necessarily like China in so far as they don’t like the CCP.

That's why at one point during the Duterte regime the Philippines had two completely different Chinese emigre factions: those favoring the Mainland, and those against it, and then there were major enclaves serving the Mainland workers doing the offshore gambling operations until the current president Marcos put to an end of it.

My wife is Chinese, she watches AI Chinese dramas and she has told me that most of China watch AI dramas. And Gen Z watch AI, Everyone younger than 30 relies on AI.

If it's not that, I'm seeing people almost everywhere hunched on their phones, watching AI-generated summaries of... what? soap opera episodes and whole movies. And those people complaining about the low quality of education when they're so fucking focused much on getting a piece of paper just to be hired even for a department store attendant.

Expanded up a bit because it's not just one country.

Bong Espiritu of the Philippine Violators, a long-time punk band, laments the cost of electricity even if his other house is not occupied.

"Never I complained because I'm not overacting and even until now I forgive and understand what I do, but MERALCO (the utility company mostly operating in Metro Manila) during three weeks in July, there wasn't anyone in my house in Cavite (a nearby city) all of us are in Manila, we were charged Php3,225 (US$51). The Filipino masses are suffering, you are making things worse. I don't know if I got it wrong or I guessed because they got used to toying with the surcharges, from Php3,000 to Php5,000 but it's injustice. Do your job!"

What, you're fucking mad?

How infuriating. He's in among the bros who hedged so much on fucking crypto believing they'll "hit the moon".
