I somehow misread the title as "The Spider That Isn't There" and was prepared to read an SCP article about a spider that doesn't exist but still bites you.

I retract my uninformed comment. Thank you.

~~When I read that article, my assumption was that people rated all the presidents whose name they recognized and then they just filled in the rest. Your point is valid and I agree with the idea but it requires that people know the policies and impact of each president.~~

When Georgia voters cast ballots in person, they use Dominion ballot marking devices, which then print a paper ballot with a QR code and text indicating the voter’s choices. Scanners read the QR code to tabulate ballots. But legislators say voters tell them they distrust the codes because they can’t be sure they’ll match their choices.

That's not a bad idea all by itself. As someone points out in the article, though, there isn't enough time to get all the new scanners in place before the next election so the timing will create some chaos. I suspect that, even if the chaos is not one of the main goals, it is at least a bonus.

You can thank Norman Vincent Peale for that.

I found this on a walk today. It was leaning up against a very tall hedge bush. The bottom is flat and angled so I assume somebody cut it off and then just left it there. I cut off and then sanded down all the little rough spiky parts that hurt my hands. I think I'm going to use it to clean my gutters.
