WSJ only sounds this good because the situation is that insane

But… Betteridge's law of headlines normally works, it caught me off guard

This is humble bragging

I did not read this because the title says all I need to know.

However my imagination was inspired, so I made up a quote:

Missiles, when selectively allowed through, help prune older military growth, allowing room for healthier units. This is much like pruning in the garden, and in no way suggests that there is anything wrong with the USA

I think having over 20,000 different languages during the Roman Empire period ( where there was probably at least 5,000 language in Europe and Asia) explains so much about historical events and isolations of different areas

Woke ideology is your beliefs when awake. This is different from sleeping cells, left and right turning, and bathroom tankies

How does the US do these things?

Badly, and with nuclear threats . But it will do them. I do not dispute it will loose in a conventional way.

I think where we differ is you expect a stop in hostilities after the USA is beaten; and I feel since the reason for this war is only market manipulation; the war will continue, however it can

I think the USA is remarkably stable; yes there will be vast hardship and many bad things will happen. But I do not see anything to take advantage of this weakness, good or bad.

I hope the USA forces are moved back to be mostly harmless; but the war will not stop as long as the Trump circles can make huge amounts of money from market manipulations.

And I have leaned to never underestimate these things. There are always missiles to fire too. Even if supplies are low. This war can last until the end of his presidency.

Not only that:

A threat of a nuclear attack, repeated several times, and an actual explosion, will make Trump and his cronies hundreds of billions of dollars if they stretch out the events. He has nothing restraining him.

This crises is still a long time from ending. And be worse later.

While you are absolutely correct about the points you made, the war is not dependent on these.

The logic is not military, but from the point of view of a scam artist who has every incentive to continue.

It will not matter if USA forces die by the thousands achieving nothing; it does not matter if the oil hits empty for domestic use. Nothing matters but profits for a very few.

Quite literally the USA could be reduced to sail boats with troops armed with only swords, and be killed out at sea. As long as the USA can bomb in the area, with any aircraft: money can be had

Socialism teaches that the left cannot win elections except in token amounts ( some congressional and a few mayors)

I think any large country, and the USA has a lot of resources, can easily run a loosing war indefinitely, should the leadership decide that is best.

Mozilla published a new State of Mozilla. It’s absolute slopaganda. A mess of trippy visuals and corpo-speak that’s been through the slop wringer too many times.

Over the years, many who read the news in the USA were surprised to find a magazine, ostensibly for teenagers, became one of the last bastions of mainstream press resistance.

A holdout from the earlier purges at other organizations, it was silenced this week.

I find this noteworthy USA news because it helps chronicle the ongoing collapse of the commercial press in the country.

Teen Vogue has now been folded into Vogue, and all politics reporters, all Black women and all trans people working there were fired on Monday (11/3/25) morning.

That is, none of the people who made Teen Vogue a surprisingly effective civics communication vehicle remain with the magazine.

This is hilarious to me, after using the evil things for years . Of course, there are reasons to use the hated postman and companies (may they be forever cursed). And I plan to keep using them.

But many valid points are made

The U.S. admiral who leads U.S. military forces in Latin America will step down at the end of this year, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced on Thursday, in a surprise move that comes amid escalating tensions with Venezuela.

Alvin Holsey only took over the U.S. military's Southern Command late last year for a position that normally lasts three years. A source told Reuters that there had been tension between him and Hegseth and questions about whether he would be fired in the days leading up to the announcement.

Social media has a rumor he refused orders to do military action against Venezuela
