This seems like a great way to ensure that the player can't beat the level. I assume there's a maximum difficulty where the enemy is still possible to beat?
Also, when does the boosted difficulty reset for the level? After beating it? I am not a fan of frustrating games, so I can't even imagine playing a game like this without just quitting.
I love the async closure update and the if-let scoping fix.
They apologize in situations when it's not even a big deal, like walking past someone in the grocery store aisle who's trying to look at the items on the shelf.

So long as they're not trying to put solar panels literally in the road but instead as coverage above the road (blocking rain, snow, sun, etc.) then that sounds great.
