I just want to say that my crap phone was glitching out when I was in this post, and I think I accidentally reported a comment?  It was TOTALLY unintentional and if that was you, I'm sorry.  I don't even know what comment it was.  I dropped my phone yesterday and now the bottom 4th of the screen doesn't work properly.  I typed this on my laptop cause I wanted to make sure whoever it was saw that it was a total mistake. Sorry :(

Maybe. Or maybe it’s just because he’s a fucking mess. But probably both.

Don’t write the letter. She was honest and straightforward with you, communicated her needs, and is asking you to respect that. Your reaction is to violate that space. And not only that, but do it so you can talk about yourself. Don’t do it. Respect the relationship you had, and when you recognize that connection again with someone else in your life, remember what she told you and try to use it for the next friend.

Also, I’m sorry you’re not treated well by other people who are supposed to lift you up. I hope your future is full of great and storied friendships and that you love yourself to pieces. Your friend gave you what sounds like a great example of making boundaries and only engaging in relationships that are mutually satisfying. All thoughts from an internet stranger, just hoping you take good care of yourself. <3

One of my least favorite things about the culture I currently live in is that people believe, without a doubt, that there are two sides to every issue. Every news story, every decision, every fucking thing needs ”both sides” to weigh in. And the world gets dumber and less interesting and more myopic. There are hundreds and thousands of viewpoints on any given topic, but if we get a couple of the most inane then we’re totally covered and the world goes on being “fair.”

Very seriously, I’d rather have them here than you.
