Nice, hope you'll have fun building and deploying your server.

Cases like NR200 would also fit a few 3.5" drives, but the reason I couldn't fit my current server into a SFF-ish case is that the mobo is mATX and I have all PCIe slots full. Most of the SFF cases (even if they fit mATX) not enough space for my PCIe needs.

I could upgrade to a built-in NVMe and SFP+ (or downgrade to 2.5GbE), but I don't want to spend that kind of money just to save some space I don't really need to save.

I agree, steam with proton is the closest.

But I'm definitely not normal.

Haven't heard of that one yet. I'll be trying it out for sure, thanks!

I would honestly prefer buying from GOG instead of steam if they had a Linux client.

In theory I could just copy the game files from wi*dows, since they advertize not having a DRM, and play using wine or proton, but steam is just more convinient.

And I have a family on steam, so my friends can play the game as well (this was the deciding point in my last game purchase, otherwise I would use GOG)

I currently have the Ncase M2, since I prefer air cooling. I don't have a pic of the PC in the M2, but here it is in the Cooler Master NR200:

my PC in an open NR200 case, visible brown fans

(Well, except that I did have to give up on having a 3.5" hard drive, but aside from that.)

I had a storage server (NAS) even before I went the SFF route, so there was little to sacrifice. Too bad the server wouldn't fit in a nice SFF case.

You can build an SFF (small form factor) PC no problem. It's harder and more expensive due to the clearances and parts being more niche, but I would highly recommend it.

I have an RTX 3080 and Ryzen 5800x in mine, all under 16l in volume, without any compromises.

It's nice to take your PC to a friend to make a mini LAN party

Pretty much the same, renting a car while on vacation would be the only scenario I could think of that a credit card would be useful. And yes I live in EU

Having a credit card is even considered a liability when applying for mortgage here

I was born in 2000, so I count as gen Z, and I genuinely prefer using physical debit card to paying with a phone (except when I need to touch the keyboard on a terminal).

But I'm weird like that and I like physical things, like my wallet with a sewing kit and bottle opener. In other pocket I keep a knife and a small flashlight

And I'm not installing my government app, and especially I'm not installing some shitty gym membership app, when I can have a card in my wallet.

Idk why people at flathub decided not to allow CLI programs.

And no alisses to the names of the programs.

Two very frustrating decisions. I would get rid of snap on my system if not for those few CLI tools I need.

I've used .rar to backup some data to an unpowered drives, some time ago. You can reserve additional space for the checksums while compressing, so you won't be able to recover just regular .rar files.

I would rather have ADDP

For me, being around "normal" people is just not that comfortable so naturally all my friends tend to be some kind of neurodivergent

Playing Need for Speed: Most Wanted on my PS2 and Sony Trinitron, even the calendar is form 2009

The room at my parents house seems permanently stuck in mid 2000s, too bad I can't take the TV with me
