Politics aside, 4 time winner Italy failing to qualify for the third time (and this time was the easiest so far) is really funny and I don't mind seeing it continue.

Agreed! Plus I buy almost all tech reburbished or used these days. Most of the time it's a way better deal especially when running Linux. At worst sometimes the battery is bad so I only buy stuff where that is replaceable.

The worst part of enthusiast threads are the "I am very smart" takes like this

I have Readeck though it does sometimes feel like overkill for my use case of just bookmarks.

Until you have to help someone install an app not available to them.

Xfinity stream for example is not on the Chromecast play store, even though an Android build exists on the Fire TV store. I had to guide my dad through this. In this case it wouldn't be possible for 24 hours.

Had a similar issue with an app not available in a friend's region.

I could live with the whole flow minus the delay. This is shit, just pure shit.

Literally everyone, do people ever leave the Lemmy/reddit bubble?

The big appeal of EVs isn't the public charging ports. They are cheaper than gas but not cheap.

Its the outlet at your house. And no despite what marketing says you do NOT have to install a 240V socket. Your existing one is fine for the vast majority of people charging overnight. If you're commuting to/from work, chances are that non-100% charge will serve just fine.

If you don't have a way to charge at home though it can be harder to recommend.

The solution to your "hard question" will emerge if you think about it for more than 2 seconds

LET'S GO the night mode switch was a big missing feature for me. Around 3pm this time of year my office gets so bright and I have to go in settings to switch it lol

How do you know there is?

And if there is I don't see a dedicated lane.

I would still bus on principle because I'm a masochist and stubborn. But I get it when people don't if the infrastructure isn't good.

An EXE is a Windows app. This is like asking if you can run an iOS app on Android.

That said yes with Wine but that's a compatibility layer you should be avoiding as much as possible. Games are of course the big exception here, as Proton uses Wine.

Most apps have an open source alternative on Linux. I haven't even given it much thought in years. YMMV of course as people's needs differ.

As long as they can last all day then charge enough overnight I think they are a big improvement. Air and noise pollution sucks with diesel.

My fear is in extreme cold places, where EVs tend to have issues.
