Nice. I use Allsides.com. it's a nonprofit org with no incentive to be biased. Very short summaries by topic and even tells you how each topic is being covered by the propoganda media. It's the only us fed news source I have in my rss feed collection.

since you're quitting Lemmy entirely? I'd ask why but I'm sure that's probably a little too personal. If it's related to the moderation of those subs, it may make sense to disclose that, though. 🫡

This seems to interestingly prove the point made by the person this is in reply to. Breaking laws come with consequences. Not caring about a robots.txt file doesn't. But maybe it should.

RSS feeds are great for this! I've been using them for years. It allows you to build your own universal feed of everything on the internet. Open RSS is a organization that provides RSS feeds for any website. Here's a good article that talks about what RSS feeds are.

I use RSS feeds to follow Lemmy, Mastodon, and Kbin communities and even specific users. For example, the RSS feed for the community this was posted in is at

https://openrss.org/lemmy.world/c/fediverse

You just add that to your RSS reader app along with any other web feeds and you have a feed tailored to everything you want to follow, catered to your interests. And no algorithms because everything is always in chronological order.

God I could kiss you. It's so weird. People have been just saying what's on their minds in chatrooms, forums, etc since the beginning of the internet, which was never scrutinized this much over being "factual". They were just expressing themselves. But now all of sudden we need a PSA to stop it lol

It's going to be interesting to see the reaction of all of these people who are gladly giving away all of their private/personal data and online behaviors for free. Just makes it easier for these companies to censor, retaliate, or use it against them when they're ready.

Yeah I've been noticing the interoperability between apps on the fediverse has been lacking. Kinda defeats the purpose of fedi.

I use Todoist. But I'm currently trying to get to the bottom of what their privacy stance is. Their Privacy Policy is too vague for my liking. I've been recently talking with their staff and asking some questions about it, but they've been slow to respond.
