Yeah. Just found that they're using this email address: OOOOOOOOOOOOOO@MURENA.IO. murena.io gives them 1GB of storage for free. Like you said, they appear to be attempting to keep a backup of a lot of data using third-party services, I'm guessing so that, in theory, even after their death, this data will be available... forever?

Great research! Thank you for at least looking into this, as I've been having this issue for months now. Just to add to your information, I'd probably rule out Ublock origin. Because it happens even when using Firefox on my Android, which doesn't have any plugins installed. I've even tried using Brave on my Android and still get the same behavior. Refreshing fixes it and logs me in automatically (sometimes). Other times I have to actually log in again. Hope this helps!

Yes! Can't believe it's 2024 and websites are still not accessible. Even the biggest companies are the worst at this... and don't even get me started on their mobile sites 🙄

WOM has and will always be the best form of marketing and you dont need big marketing teams to do it.

The problem is that a company doesnt need that many people to push a product. They can just pay the few they need, well. But instead, they'd just rather hire a shit ton of people and under pay all of them.

This reply reads like we should have to pay for these big unnecessary marketing teams these companies hire, which shouldn't be the case.

Mine are pretty sassy

Agree. Different platforms have different purposes and the experiences probably should remain separate.

I always find these perspectives that want such a high level of fed integration peculiar when this can already be done using RSS feeds. It's the whole reason they exist. To bring all of the updates from anywhere on the internet Mastodon updates, Pixelfed, Peertube, etc into one, single timeline view. The tools are already there for people to use if people want them.

Neat! I follow Lemmy communities in an RSS feed so I can just filter right in my RSS reader. It's pretty nice.

So maybe switching providers altogether is a better option for those who have a choice

Genuinely curious, how would it not be possible for a person to switch to another provider? Are people really so tied to gmail that they feel it's impossible to leave?

Definitely. You'd love Allsides.com btw. Gives great info on how a topic is covered across the spectrum and summarizes them really well. There's an RSS feed for it too.

Yeah, JavaScript/TS doesn't get a great rep being used on the backend. But I use it on quite a few of my projects, one of which gets thousands of requests per minute. I was skeptical of whether or not using Node on the backend would hold up, but the performance has been stellar.. pretty surprising, actually.

My comment is in reference to the UI. Auth and APIs require a different set of tech and have nothing to do with the UI.

We just thumbs up the PR for an ADR if we're in favor of it. Does that differ from the ADR format?
