Yeah I think this was hastily done to prevent the XSS injection attacks that were happening IIRC. They implemented encoding for content, but looks like they never got around to fully decoding it.

Issue could've been avoided by just restricting the encoding to when the user types content in (and before database insertion), and decoding when showing the content in the UI.

Renovate is great. Plus there's just something about Github owning dependabot that always bothered me.

I remember back when music (or any artistic expression really) was done by people out of passion.

They used their talent to help people enjoy life more and did other things like picking up a trade for money.

These days, people feel like they can't do anything to help other people without being paid for it.

That's an issue for a great feature request. I was thinking more of a globally public display of all upvotes and downvotes a user has. But I think you've addressed why that's not an option deeper in the comments of that issue. Thanks!

Makes sense to me

We use them at my company. I love how new engineers can't just come into our codebase and start doing huge refactors. ADRs kind of force them to explain their rationale. We also use them to upvote on whether an architectural change should be implemented or not.
