You're missing the point. "This makes things easier" isn't the problem, it's more along the lines of "this is only possible by stealing the works of countless people, it will attempt to obviate their jobs, and make billionaires even richer." People aren't mad you want to work less, they're mad you'll make things worse, and won't even bother to grasp how.

I feel like that terminology could be updated, over time. First alternative that comes to mind is neurotypical, which I last saw in a blog post about the struggles of an autist dealing with office politics and implicit expectations. Very relatable. Conveniently, it doesn't define a side as normal.

Hosting your own instance is not a fire and forget operation. The closest thing is single-user instances, but even then there are matters the admin must handle. Plus, there's little incentive for doing all this work.
I'm sure those free services run on pure hopes and dreams and will do so forever.
