So, my character Kanami Yamamoto starts out as the cool but creepy cemetery worker of Walnut Grove Cemetery. Then, as she starts to warm up to the unnamed Protagonist, she becomes cheerful and lets them in on her secrets and personal stuff. She becomes obsessively in love with them and due to her loneliness and abandonment issues, kidnaps them. She keeps a cool/cheerful mask like everything is under control and even (fake) smiles when Protagonist leaves her.

I wanna see how different it is from the original and for anyone saying to just use a caption generator or online tools, it doesn’t detect any dialogue when I know damn well people are speaking.

Sorry for posting so much. Another character in my Kanami's Safe Haven story universe is a character from the Rosewater Kingdom on an island off England, Princess Chloe Rosewater. She is one of three potential love interests since there will be three endings, the other two being childhood friend Mike Roberts and Kanami Yamamoto, that ending being she overcomes or at least her abandonment issues become less severe and she is a good girlfriend to Y/N.

Being a princess and all who's next in line for the throne, she is a very kind, sweet, and loyal young woman who is not at all dishonest about her intentions or romantic feelings; she is exactly who she says she is when it comes to love and she is sweet from the start. However, she is hiding a side to her that doesn't affect how she treats others or her love interest, and that is her mental illness. She doesn't love Y/N so much she goes insane, but rather, she was mentally ill from the start as well and is hiding her depression and constant panic attacks. She hasn't left the house in over two years so Y/N only messages her online, and she is prone to maniacal laughter when she snaps though she is desperately trying not to snap. She values helping others, work, and her Kingdom over all things and is a bit of a workaholic who works from home.

I feel like she would be Hikikomori and Broken Bird. Maybe also Mask of Sanity.

[We see a girl with reddish-pink hair working at a desk]

Girl: [sighs] Another day at the store.

Girl, voiceover: My name is Mayumi Oniyama. I guess you could say I’m a typical young adult. However, I wanna be more than just typical.

[Shows “sprite” of Mayumi leaning on her elbow, daydreaming]

Mayumi, voiceover: I want an awesome racecar!

[Shows drawing of luxury home]

Mayumi, voiceover: I want my own house!

[Shows Mayumi sitting on a pile of money]

Mayumi, VO: I want to be wealthy!!!

Mayumi, VO: But of course, I’m stuck at this crappy store job, especially since I decided not to spend my money, which I didn’t have, on college.

[Mayumi quickly checks her phone]

Mayumi: (Of course no one has texted me…)

Mayumi, VO: That’s right, no one even bothers to text me, my life is so depressing.

[A customer approaches and she puts her phone away]

[Mayumi listlessly scans the items, which are canned corn, eggrolls, sushi, and rice crackers]

Mayumi: [Bored and tired-sounding] That’ll be 2,310 Yen. Would you like your receipt?

Customer A: Sure!

Mayumi: [Doodles a smiley face and a flower on Customer A’s receipt] Have a great day, sir.

Customer A: Thanks! You too, ma’am!

Mayumi, voiceover: [Mayumi is scanning more items as people are in a line] I just wish I had a break soon…

[Customer after customer comes by and Mayumi has the same monotone “Have a great day” over and over]

Customer B: [As the old lady walks out the door] Keep smiling, honey! You got this!

Mayumi: [Half-smiles back] Thanks…!

Mayumi: [Thinking again] (That’s right, I do got this! I’ll be the nicest employee ever, with a nice car, a house, filthy rich, and…)

[Suddenly, a buff guy approaches Mayumi, trying to act “cool” but being rude.]

Guy: Yeah, woman, I don’t have time for games. [He sets down the items forcefully]

Mayumi: What?

[Mayumi scans the items and bags them, one by one]

Guy: [Crossing his arms] What’s taking so long? Even a kid could do what you’re doing. All ya have to do is scan and bag. Move those pretty hands, sweetheart.

[The camera zooms into Mayumi’s face, her eye twitching]

Mayumi, VO: But one thing most people don’t know about me unless they’re a certain group of people is, my patience is running thin.

Mayumi: [Screams at the customer, slamming her hands down on the counter, her face red] Oh, come on, dude! Can’t you see I’m trying my best over here!? You look like the type who doesn’t have to work and can’t get up off his lazy ass!!! So people like me, unlike you, actually understand how hard it is to have a freaking job!

[Mayumi starts panting, realizing what she said]

Guy: [Stares in stunned silence with a shocked expression before walking off] Fine. Whatever.

Mayumi: [Stares at the customer as he walks away, surprised at what she just did]

???: Mayumi!!!

[Mayumi jumps]

[We see a guy with dark brown hair, fairly muscular]

Mayumi: Hiro.

Hiro: Is there a problem? [Smirking]

Mayumi: [Gulps, looking worried] N-no, sir!!

Hiro: C’mon, princess. You don’t have to call me “sir”. We’ve worked together for what, a year and a half now? I’m just Hiro Hayashi.

[Hiro leans in to Mayumi]

Hiro: I saw what you did over there. That-That guy’s face! [he starts laughing]

[Mayumi starts nervously laughing, too].

[As Mayumi stops laughing, the screen pans out]

Mayumi, VO: Maybe my life isn’t so dull.

Prologue

“A…Are you sure?” I stuttered, phone up to my ear.

“Hell yeah!” answered my friend at the end of the line, Mike Roberts.

“I don’t know…” I answered back. “It seems kinda…”

“What?” he scoffed. “You scared?”

Mike is my childhood friend. Ever since kindergarten, he’s tried to find “adventurous” ways to get us into trouble, claiming I was “scared” if I didn’t. Regardless, I still liked and cared about him. He was like a brother to me after all.

I gulped. “No! Of course not!”

“Then what are you waiting for? We’re going to the cemetery in fifteen minutes. It’s already 1:45 a.m.”

That’s right. Mike woke me up in the middle of the night just to do some haunted cemetery crap where we “speak to the dead” or whatever. I don’t believe in it.

I sighed. “Fine.”

“Great. I knew I could get you to agree.” He chuckled mischievously, and I could feel his grin spread from ear to ear.

“Bye, then?”

“Byeee!”

I threw on my favorite shirt and pants, then drove the car I’ve had for four years to the local cemetery, Walnut Grove Cemetery.

I walked down the steps to my house and hopped in my silver Subaru Outback.

I shivered a little in the brisk October air. I should’ve brought a sweater with me.

I drove past all the houses next to each other, several restaurants, apartments, all going by in a blur while my favorite song, (your favorite song) by (that artist), played in the background.

Finally, I arrived to meet Mike at the cemetery. It was cool and obviously dark, as it was two in the morning. There was a large white fence and many graves from as early as 1874 standing by each other.

“You know, with your hair blowing in the breeze like that, you’re very (handsome/beautiful).”

I could tell he was smiling despite the darkness. He teased me a lot, after all.

“Ya ready?” he asked as my foot reached for the entrance of the fence.

I took a deep breath. “As I’ll ever be.”

While on one hand, I’d never done this before, I don’t know why I was so scared. It’s not like we were digging up the corpses or anything, just talking to ghosts I didn’t believe in.

With my phone flashlight, I could see the grave I was standing next to was that of Maria Karlsson, a Swedish-American girl I went to school with who died when we were 13 in a car crash.

“H… Hi.”

No answer. See, Mike? It wasn’t real. Maria was just a corpse rotting in the ground, and she definitely went to Heaven if it even existed.

“HEY!!!”

Mike and I jumped. “Yes, sir? Ma’am… uhhh…”

“Assistant,” said the person. They were carrying a shovel. Their skin was oddly pale, their neck-length hair shaggy and dark brown. Their eyes were a reddish-brown, and they wore a black turtleneck with a white shirt covered in dirt over it.

“Ok then, Assistant. What do you want?” snapped Mike.

“Michael!” I called him Michael, as if he were my own son, when I scolded him. “Let’s not be rude.”

“Take some advice from them,” the assistant replied. “What the hell are y’all even doing here?”

I stared at their blue jeans and black shoes with white soles. “Oh, I’m so, so, sorry. I can explain…”

“We’re here to speak to the dead,” finished Mike, coming up behind me.

The assistant blinked. “Excuse me?”

“He dragged me into this,” I replied.

“I don’t think the dead can talk back to you.”

“Believe me, I don’t either.”

They crossed their arms. “Now, I don’t want to see you two for a long while. You’d best leave.”

Mike sighed. “Fine.”

Walking back to our cars, Mike scoffed. He did that a lot.

“A worker, here to spoil our fun.”

Truth be told, Mike had more fun than I did, but I wasn’t going to tell him that.

So I just nodded. “Yeah.”

“I mean, just let us have fun! I want to speak to the dead, maybe even be haunted.”

I nodded again, not quite knowing what to say.

“Well, I’d better get to bed.”

“Me too. That was…” Not fun, but… ”...interesting.”

“Why, thank you, (your name).”

“You’re welcome, Mike.”

And so I got in the car and drove back to my house, driving back past the buildings and watching everything become a blur as my favorite song played yet again.

I plopped down on the bed, lying on my back. As I closed my eyes, I saw no one other than the worker.

They were certainly creepy. Almost like a ghost or something with that pale skin. Wow.

I slowly but surely fell asleep.

You, a lonely person in their late teens/early twenties, go to the cemetery in the middle of the night with a friend Mike as a dare by him, as he suggests the place is genuinely haunted and you'll be able to speak to dead loved ones/people. You and Mike end up getting yelled at by a worker there who is in charge of many things, specifically burying the dead. They ask what you're doing here and chase you and Mike out of the cemetery.

Despite this and the fact they don't seem to like you much, you can't seem to get them out of your head and have the desire to learn more about them.

You keep going to the cemetery each day in the middle of the night, this time without Mike, just to see them.

They react with hostility at first, and are confused as to why you keep coming back. They just don't want you there. Just as you're about to leave, however, they show a warmer side and seem to want you to come back!

You find out their name is Kanami Yamamoto and that they are agender (main pronouns they/them), which of course, you don't have a problem with.

Kanami starts to show a friendlier side to them and starts to REALLY, I mean, REALLY take a liking to you.

They even tell you that they're a sentient AI created by their "father", famous developer Charlie Yamamoto.

Kanami invites you to their house that Charlie bought them and in it is a secret room in the basement labeled Kanami's Safe Haven.

so many characters can have many different “dere” types. i already did a post (crossposted as well) asking if my character Kanami was a yandere, and so far, the consensus is yes. however, would they also qualify as a tsundere character?

They are also known as Mimi in the side stories, but when they get more serious in the main story, they go by Kanami. However, in the main story, they develop an obsession with you and end up kidnapping you due to their fear of abandonment. They will do anything for you just so you stay with them forever, including cooking for you, doing services for you, etc.

i'd really say i have a lot of interests if i REALLY think about it. steven universe, metal family, danganronpa, south park, vocaloid, and trying to get into persona for my friend and zelda for my girlfriend. i'm also interested in doki doki literature club, wallace and gromit, craig of the creek, and probably more i can't think of.

my girlfriend is very open about her interest in zelda and talks about the zora and the triforce a lot. she constantly talks about zelda, the game, its characters, plays it a lot even when we're talking sometimes, etc.

she has more interests and hobbies but her main hobby is gaming, specifically zelda. i have mentioned in my posts that "ivy" is a gamer.

ivy is neurodivergent just like me, and i don't want to be rude by telling her i wanna talk about my interests because that would be seen as me not being interested, and i really am interested in zelda and trying to get into it for her, like i said.

i hardly ever mention my interests because i'm very closed as a person and only mention my interests to people i'm really close with, like my mom.

she has asked me what my interests were a few times and i've talked about them, and i usually get a "cool" or "nice". i really don't think she'd be that interested but she might be.

one other thing? i can't get her into my hobbies or interests either despite her wanting me to get into hers. one other interest i have, american dad, i managed to get her to watch an episode of but that was only because it was made by the creator of family guy.

she has zero interest in my interests and i wouldn't say she'd rather play a videogame than go out with me or do my interests, but well, she would rather have me around, of course. but... she doesn't like going out a lot and would rather play a video game than go out and is always hesitant when i ask her if she wants to do something i like.

it's not that she doesn't like me or prefers that to me, she really does like me and doesn't prefer it, i'm just talking here.

afterwards, maybe i should stop talking about ivy and me so much. there's really nothing WRONG with our relationship per se, i just need ideas on what to do to be more open.

She still loves me guys <3
