About 60€ for the wedding bands. Bought them on Etsy, made of epoxied wood with some blue in it, handmade in Poland. I insisted in not buying expensive since my husband is prone to misplace things. I was right. Not even a year in, he lost his. I now keep mine in a box. We talked about replacing his, but it is not really important for us. And we kept removing them for bouldering, cooking and other activities. Our bond does not rely on a ring.

Let‘s hope he actually wins also, not just in the poles, that can mean nothing.

My doctors were never shocked, I suppose they‘ve seen many different situations. I did learn to tell them beforehand that these things happen to me, so they might take it in consideration. Bodies are so different, it is normal to react different to substances and foods. But with age we hopefully are more in tune with our bodies and start to learn how it works.

For me is a combo, caffeine, even from a cup or green tea, makes me have sleep issues, but the anesthesics at the dentist or in surgeries take more time than usual to take effect. They did give me once, before a hand surgery, a intravenous shot of something and I was instant drunk and started laughing. It was so very odd!

Because many people are easy to be brainwashed with Facebook and Tik Tok and WhatsApp conspiracy theories. And they are also brainwashed in the churches (many people voted for Simion because he is a „man of God“. Such bullshit!). Even educated people. They just stop thinking for themselves. I know people are discontent with political parties, all over the world, there are no real politicians left nowadays, and if there are, they get eaten alive by the other scumbags. But that is no reason to look to Russia to help.

In the article, they are talking about difficult fitting in the societies where they emigrated to. My opinion is, as an immigrant as well, that one has to make the effort to integrate. You cannot expect for that to fall on the shoulders of the citizens where you emigrated. No society is perfect, and we have to accept that. And live where it bests suits us. But voting for anti-EU puppet will not help your life living abroad. You might get kicked out of the EU and be forced to get back to your country.

And EU does not make everything perfect, but one can get involved to force changes there. Not just complain in your WhatsApp group. Will it be better to live like they do in Russia? Become their friends and who knows, maybe in future be sent to fight a war for them? I don’t think so. People should start to think for themselves and not just listen blindly to their preachers.

EU should do something to stop the easy access to propaganda tools for the Russians and Chinese. I would be happy to see Facebook and Tik Tok be banned, they are just rotting people’s minds.

Is there an app to use on iPhones? I was thinking for a while to switch to it, but I don’t know what could I use for iPhone to access the emails.

"Love in the Time of Cholera" by Gabriel García Márquez, and all of his books. Such a different way of writing.

Thanks for the link, interesting read( I read the transcript). A section here:

VOLPE: Yeah. Yeah. Like Harris said, it's an easy solution. And you know, speaking of, like, some of these people, like Andrew Tate, like, their messages of, like, you know, you need to have women around you only to dominate them. And, like, those sort of messages, I think, are very appealing for men who feel like their place in the world is being threatened. And so it's very easy to say, like, oh, yeah, like, maybe they just need a girlfriend or a friend and, like, they'll be better.

And I think that maps neatly onto the way that we socialize boys and men, too, to sort of value that one romantic relationship, and, like, that is the thing...

This might be one of the reasons. But it is interesting that the survey says it is only 1% less of women than men feeling lonely. Would be interesting to know the country too. Not all societies are the same, and in some friendships between men are similar in connection like between 2 women.

Yeah, I gave up on it and do not miss the headaches.

[–] peaches@lemm.ee 5 points 1 year ago

Oh yes, I was going to say crowd. But I think it is actually noise. Unless it’s birds and bees, rain and wind…

Sounds like how toxic relationships start.

I started using Radio Garden app to listen to my favourite radio stations, but I would like to explore more. I am mostly interested in music, maybe with a bit of talking, and music that ages well, not the kind if radio that has the latest of the latest.

For now my favourites are:

Die Neue FM 107.7 Germany Kiss FM Spain Magic FM Romania

I am interested in music in other languages too, not only English. A good mix.

I made my first order on otto.de a few days ago. I even installed their app, as I had Amazon app before, so it is easy to see my orders and invoices. It worked excelent, I found what I needed. What I was pleasantly surprised with, was that I did not need to enter a payment card. I just made my order, things came in 2 batches, different days, and I have about a month to pay them.

When I went to pay them, you have the option to pay each one, or all of them at once. I chose all, I’ve got a QR code, scanned it with my bank app and made the transfer. Painless and not using anything US made. Well, the phone I am on and the iPad…but you know what I mean, no VISA/Mastercard, etc.

And from what I heard, they have stricter rules of who can be a merchant on their website, compared to Amazon.
