im gen z myself and honestly i gotta say its a mixed bag. those i hang out with are definitely more aware of these issues and care about them but like. thats because i mostly hang out with poc and other minority groups that will be the most affected (myself included). i majored in art and pretty much everyone i knew in the department was god damn devastated at the election results. outside of this group of people? well yea theres definitely those of us who are all like “nothing ever happens” (that shit pisses me off fr) but i dont think this kind of divide is super specific to us? maybe its cuz i dont rly be on the “big” social media platforms (tiktok, IG, etc) but thats how i see it
personally i dont have a lot of money (still dont have a job 😭), no reliable transportation, and like. this shit is scary!! people in the uni i graduated from had ICE visit them and their visas revoked!! i mean i still try to do what i can but shit… the burnout and fear is real. i was 13 when trump first became president and since then i always had this feeling that something bad would happen. i am unfortunately surrounded by older adults who either openly support this shit (like my parents. who kicked me out the house before for getting a covid vaccine for school so. not always easy for me to just get out there) or just don’t care, and this loop of bad shit always happening gets tiring, yknow? obviously im not gonna give up the fight but damn its rough out here and some of us are just tired
