Video files are an exception since it would be too slow on WASM

Q: What happens with video files?

Video files get uploaded to our lightning-fast RTX 4000 Ada server. Your videos stay on there for an hour if you do not convert them. If you do convert the file, the video will stay on the server for an hour, or until it is downloaded. The file will then be deleted from our server.

Man, that was an incredible video. As someone who occasionally dabbles in designing and creating programs, the rant about selection modes was eye-opening. It feels like I understand UX a lot better now.

Very excited for Cosmic. I wanted to like Gnome but it's a pain in the ass in so many ways, with weird design decisions that constantly ruin the experience. They tell you to use extensions to get basic features like a system tray, but then break extensions every update.

KDE is in a fantastic spot but I'm ready for something new.

I played something like 15 hours when EA first released before deciding to put it away

Same here, you're in for a treat. There's a lot that's been improved.

While we prepare for the stable release—no more than a week’s time from now—let’s enjoy one last roundup of changes.

Hype! Looking forward to updating my projects to the newest version.

The fun part of this game is hearing such differing opinions, I had someone explain that Block Koala was their favorite. I personally didn't gel with Planet Zoldath, it's conceptually neat but I found it very tedious. Glad you enjoy it though!

I'll post it on Lemmy once it's done. I'm still not entirely sure which gaming communities would be most suitable but it'll definitely be in !blogging@programming.dev :)

That said, UFO 50 is truly massive, so it'll be some time before I finish this thing. One of the games I haven't started yet is apparently a 20+ hour JRPG, so that'll be fun.

It's also a lot easier to manage via code since you could just get children and have each layer have its own group.

This is really cool. It seems to be getting hugged to death though, I'm getting a lot of server errors when I attempt to open most apps.

Pretty good write-up on the advantages of self-hosting versus the woes of platform-as-a-service.

I don't agree with everything here but I generally agree that it feels like there's a significant lack of exploration and creativity. Every company is too afraid to create something new, and everything seems to be following safe trends.

Pretty cool, honestly.

I’ve decided to make a community for sharing blog posts, since there aren’t many places to do so in Lemmy.

This is a community for posting interesting, insightful, or even personal blog posts. You can advertise your own blog posts, or share other blog posts you find interesting. See you there!

If you're using GPUParticles in the compatibility renderer in the last few betas, you should upgrade now. There was a bug where particles would sometimes not emit that got fixed here. Was quite frustrating.

No, the AI didn't try to copy the other art that was included. I also don't train the model myself, I just tell it to create an image similar to another one. For example the fourth picture I told it to create a rough sketch of a person sitting on a bench using an ink pen, then I went online and looked for a human-made one that's of a similar style.
