If I can, I buy direct downloads.

If I can't do that, I'll buy the CD (as long as its direct or a small label).

If I can't, or its one of the big labels, I'll find it elsewhere. I'd rather buy merch to support the artist directly than buy anything that goes through the big labels.

He died 4 years back, so no. ALS is usually about 2 years from diagnosis, and he made it a bit past that, but not much.

Once the ridiculous amounts of nonsense paperwork was run through (during which time my dad lost the use of his arm, speech was one of the first things to go), he got plenty of support. But getting there is the nightmare in my opinion. They started out trying to give him like 15% disability - which is insane, ALS is terminal and is always a 100%.

But thanks for the link! It looks like there's some stuff there that applies to my family in terms of benefits, so going to do some digging.

You may be surprised to know, not only does he know where but he makes some too! In fact, he made some with Muñequita Enfadada and it can be found on xnxx!

(I couldn't resist)

In what world would they not prioritize that?

The current one where Republicans have control of the House.

Piper is probably what you want for the mouse (and maybe solaar which handles unifying receiver/bolt connectivity.

As far as Nvidia goes though, that's likely to be the sticking point right now. Maybe at some point they will clean up their act, but I wouldn't hold my breathe so I wouldn't ask you to wait.

Windows 10 may be the better fit right now, and that's ok. Maybe Nvidia will release new drivers in a few weeks or months and you'll have more options, but for now I think Win10 may be the best fit for what you need.

Edit: Maybe see if Mint works out? https://lemmy.world/post/15653242

A few reasons:

  • Any conversion (including internally at the display) can result in colorspace mismatches.
  • If the sink has an unsupported mode, the source will send a default - which is usually a mismatch.

I wouldn't call it often wrong, personally. I'd say some devices are really bad with EDIDs, and are consistently problematic. It's more like -recent hardware is generally pretty good, but relying entirely on EDID won't always work, so use with care.

Some great examples of problematic devices/situations (in general):

  • Apple. Pretty much anything they make.
  • DP to HDMI - while DP supports HDMI natively, that can be one of the situations where EDID issues crop up. But much less often than....
  • DVI to HDMI or vice versa - this is probably the most problematic of general use. Happens somewhat often where a different or default colorspace gets used.

If you've got a single PC going to a display (or several), just set it once manually and you're good to go. If you're plugging and unplugging often with multiple devices (like with a dock), an EDID minder can be handy, but come with a price that generally makes setting it manually preferred anyway.

Hope this helps answer for you

To be fair these companies should generally be boycotted anyway, they all have been hindering progress for their profits.

Kind of hard to do though. People need heat in their homes, gas for cars, etc.

Tool libraries are libraries, not rentals.

So no, they aren't saying renting is the same thing as a library. They are saying libraries offering more services are a great way for you to save money by not buying a tool you only need once or for a day here and there over the years.

Just to be clear - it's the API that's shutting down, not the app. Not that Google has put in effort for the app either, it hasn't updated since health connect afaik, but health connect is the health and fitness tooling going forward.

Fitbit has health connect support now, so even if they shift and drop Fit (I hope not, though I also hoped they wouldn't kill the web interface), and make Fitbit the main Google fitness app, it will still work with Fitbit as the app.

You can take a look at the meshtastic project - https//www.meshtastic.org - people have made some pretty wild solutions, it's pretty cheap to build too.

I think his screeching about "woke" and "PC culture" is just his code for "I really want to fuck some kids and I don't think I can get away with it now".
