xrdp and x11vnc is rootless
It’s still relatively easy to sign up for a major email provider anonymously.
In my experience, it is actually impossible. Either you get blocked (IP/ASN ban, endless captchas) or it requires SMS confirmation. I have not been able to sign up for any major email provider anonymously. I'm pretty sure that's by design.
In the context of fingerprinting I disagree. The vast majority of the world population do NOT use an ad-blocker (supposedly maybe 15% do at most)... so having an adblocker can be used to narrow you down even more IMO. Many extensions can have this issue afaik, especially if it modifies the DOM.
You mean the coward who sent fundraising messages while hiding inside the Capitol on Jan 6?
how about FOSS, free and open-source standards /s
I just want a pre-assembled rpi-ish device with a touchscreen and 99% enclosed case that anyone can buy and drop an SD card in. I know FCC testing makes this prohibitively expensive for many companies but I still want it. It would make so many products I want to sell actually feasible.
except windows binaries are actually forward compatible.
even with the most popular distros, for example if you tried to take a typical gui program from say, ubuntu 22, and run it on ubuntu 24, it won't work. even worse for other distros.
Know any good resources for math-ignorant programmers that teaches how to use those in useful ways?
Not completely. My understanding is that the baseband radio still always runs even when the application OS is shutdown, and it (often) has its own connections to the GPS, camera and microphone, sometimes even the filesystem (Samsung RFS). The battery not being removable makes this even more problematic IMO.

I don't like the approach of banning nonresidential IPs. I think it's discriminatory and unfairly blocks out corporate/VPN users and others we might not even be thinking about. I realize there is a bot problem but I wish there was a better solution. Maybe purely proof-of-work solutions will get more popular or something.
