F-Droid not being trusted. They build and sign a developer's code on their behalf, so there is a chance for injection there.
There are reproducible builds, but I would argue it's not taken seriously enough. Like right now nobody is publicly verifying Signal's supposed reproducible Android builds and they've historically had problems keeping it working.
Also how most (or all?) Play Store apps (including FOSS) contain proprietary code.

Not only are we technical folks, only 5% of the population, not their target audience, it seems most people don't care enough about ads to ever try to stop them... at all.

Here's a counter-argument to yours... disabling javascript can actually make you stand out like a glowing sun. Just like how ad-blockers can be used for fingerprinting, the fact that you're not loading any JS, or any resources it might have fetched, can greatly increase your fingerprint. Along with combining TLS fingerprinting, HTTP headers and HTML/CSS tricks you can still be singled out pretty well without any JS. The fact that you have JS disabled automatically puts you in a very small list of people, so not as many data points are even needed for an accurate fingerprint.

The documentation is really terrible and the developers try to defend it anyways.
Some instances also employ cloudflare or other anti-ddos techniques that make automated API usage impossible.
This now makes all current mainstream distros 100% unusable for blind users, as all built-in screen readers are broken on Wayland, and all the main distros now use Wayland, so you cannot even install the OS at all.

No it can't. This story keeps getting posted all over the internet.
Not only is it wrong, and not only do the researchers refuse to show their work (citing possible "misuse"), but it entirely depends on what kind of OPSEC failures the user happens to make.
