Got a non-captcha-looped source? I gave up after ten rounds of clicking bicycles.

Obviously don’t use a VPN

To me this kinda defeats the point of being privacy-conscious.

What do you have to say about this then?

In an encrypted room even with fully verified members, a compromised or hostile home server can still take over the room by impersonating an admin. That admin (or even a newly minted user) can then send events or listen on the conversations.

Perhaps we have a different definition of "impersonate"... not everyone will pay attention to unverified warnings, and afaik they can still communicate with people (just maybe not read old messages)... but I would love to be proven wrong.

all of this is true with literally any company.

Why is TLS fingerprinting not mentioned? This is what CloudFlare uses and it's highly effective (unfortunately). It doesn't even require any use of HTML, CSS or JavaScript, and so can even identify non-browser things.

It's also funded by the CIA. Although Signal is/was also indirectly funded by US Congress via OTF, and some claim that means the CIA is somehow involved too. Of course, computers, the internet and tor also had major US government funding, for what it's worth.

I’m trying to find anything malicious in anything he’s said

They use the "silence is violence" trope to harass and terrorize projects, hiding behind their "protected status" as a transgender. Whenever someone rejects anything that calls for "greater inclusion", they go nuclear and tell all their friends to do the same. The bullied becomes the bully. It's very childish. It's always people that never contribute any meaningful code as well.

Non-technical is not the same as political, not even close. I explicitly chose that term because it's not considered subjective by anyone, but especially not by the people who think gender-neutrality is somehow NOT political. If you claim that it is, they just quip back with "a person's right to exist is not a political issue but a human rights one", which of course was never even the debate, they just twist things around to fit their narrative.

AWS literally advertises an isolated "GovCloud" service.
