As an outsider with no skin in anyone's game, I find it a bit disingenuous to say that one person's interpretation of subjective terms is somehow less "correct" than anyone else's.

I install residential and business internet for a living and I have yet to encounter a single AX AP operating in the wild (yes I check every time, and yes my devices support it). And our own routers only do N.

I meant besides crunchyroll... but are you trying to imply that they shouldn't have done this or that their harmful content is not a problem that should be dealt with?

I disagree. But I think the overall intention with saying that is simply that we/I don't want to have that discussion or it's off-topic/not the right place. I guess that could be said instead although I doubt it would really make much difference. People will still find a way to complain and boycott even if you do nothing i.e. "silence is violence".

I think a lot of people will simply stay away from your project if you invite that kind of discussion, regardless of who is right or wrong. More people than might otherwise be attracted by arguably more explicit and inclusive stances.

A better thing to be worried about IMO is that Signal contains proprietary code. Also to my knowledge nobody is publicly verifying the supposed "reproducible builds" if they even still exist.

I don't understand how that would prove anything.

do you have a flag?

Why is asking for feedback a bad thing? IMO it's better than just being on by default, and still gives the developers an opportunity to at least get SOME useful feedback instead of all the people that screech about how telemetry should be banned entirely. I would bet money none of those people are professional developers.

Tell me you've never been to Malaysia without telling me you've never been to Malaysia.

Technically you're right, but I don't think that changes what I said about optimization. There are still cases where equivalent C++ code can be faster than the C version merely due to different optimizations used.
