A smart name would be Einsteinium.

I always viewed this more like: Men only get one title because nobody gives a fuck about men. Single, married, whatever. It's irrelevant. "Here, have a nice, generic title that means literally nothing other than you are male. Now get back to work so you can create some value for ~~your rich land owner~~ society!"

Unmarried women, however, have inherent (societal) value beyond their ability to work. That's why they get extra titles. It's the same reason why most societies don't use women in war.

Once you have that Mrs in front of your name, you're considered to have "succeeded." According to the old traditions, anyway. A married woman was viewed as having been put to work (by society). That was her primary job, and people cared a lot about it!

Of course, women were still expected to also do actual work but the sexist nature of these traditions meant that it didn't count for much. Mostly because "muscle" (ability to perform manual labor for a full 12-or-more hour work day) was what ran the economy. Serfs in the fields!

I had to share this because no one else in my life will listen.

I'm listening, but more importantly, I completely understand 😭

Also, if you think this setup (with the Xbox controller) is great, wait until the Steam Frame comes out with the new Steam Controller integration (it has IR LEDs on the front of it so you can see a virtual representation of it in the menus). You also won't need to plug it into your PC as the Steam Frame itself is basically a full PC.

I'm so hyped about it! Finally, a real Linux OS we can customize TF out of instead of locked-down versions of Android that look like they are designed for toddlers.

Any of these people who take the time to learn what any of these policies actually mean quickly ~~become not-Republicans~~ start to disbelieve reality and declare the truth as, "fake news."

FTFY 👍

To me, this is like saying, "4chan has turned into a cesspool!" Yeah: It was like that from the start. YOU were the ones that assumed it was ever safe!

You're posting stuff on the public Internet to a website for adults where literally anyone can sign up and comment FFS.

If you want good moderation you need community moderation from people in that community. Not some giant/evil megacorp!

There's all sorts of tools and platforms that do this properly, easily, and for free. If you don't like Meta's websites move off of them already!

Sorry, Catholics and Indians... It's better for America if the curse of JD Vance stays outside the country.

Surely, you have some enemies other than us, yes? Send him there.

Catholics: Please do feel free to send him straight to hell 👍

This news is from November 14th. OP trying to make recent events into a new trend perhaps?

I don't know whether to be appalled or impressed. Either way it's quite clever.

Never trust any organization with "heritage" in its name.

I've been giving out this advice for decades now and it still holds true. The Heritage Foundation is but one of many organizations that amount bullshit for hire or exist for the sole purpose of promoting and/or excusing racism, genocide, and autocracies and theocracies.

"Heritage" and "tradition" are some of humanity's worst excuses for doing anything and have been used to extend human suffering since forever.

I remember when the web didn't have JavaScript.

Honestly, though it was much worse back then. I prefer the variety and features of modern browsing over (mostly) plain text.

What I wish we could do away with on the web is videos. Let's go back to just images and text, thanks. Animations are fine though 👍

The real problem is that under water it's hard to tell the difference between red and blue wires.

It's because of how your province negotiated the contract for the drugs. I guarantee that there's language in there that has penalties if there's supply problems.

Countries that don't negotiate drug prices/contracts are the ones that are suffering with shortages.

Insert Morpheus meme about people's worst fears about socialism being realized under capitalism.
