Koalas have nearly identical fingerprints as well:

Correction: Newer versions of ChatGPT (GPT-5.x) are failing in insidious ways. The article has no mention of the other popular services or the dozens of open source coding assist AI models (e.g. Qwen, gpt-oss, etc).

The open source stuff is amazing and gets better just as quickly as the big AI options. Yet they're boring so they don't make the news.

They're pushing the schedule ahead as fast as possible because Trump is literally dying. He probably had a stroke and has obviously been getting infusions. It won't be long before they announce, "he had a bad fall."

The Trump administration—and conservatives in general—are treating oil that can only be extracted from fracking like it's old fashioned oil wells. They're not the same. The output from a traditional oil well is easy to predict: They have a specific amount of estimated oil and over (a long) time you need to add more well heads to keep the same level of output but in general it's well-established science. You can extract from them for decades and decades.

Fracking can extract a lot of oil from a tiny area all at once over the course of just a few years. In theory you could extract oil from the same fracking well for 40 years but in reality it's just ten years. No fracking (for oil) has lasted longer than that as far as I'm aware. You can still extract natural gas from the same site though (I don't know the specifics on that).

NOTE: What makes fracking wells only last ten years isn't that you can't get any more oil out of them. It's because it takes too much energy to get more oil out of them. Forget how much it costs: There's an amount no one will pay to extract a barrel of oil from the ground and that is "more than one barrel's worth of energy".

Whereas wind and solar power will last forever, fracking is a boom that will only last another 20 years or so. By screwing over solar and wind power Republicans/Trump/conservatives are screwing our future. It takes a long ass time to replace fleets of vehicles and the time to do that is like ten years ago. We need to ramp it up too if we don't want to get caught in another energy crisis around 2035 (that's approximately when the output from traditional oil wells drops to the point where fracking can't make up with demand anymore).

The entire basis for this is the assumption that goods are being transported using fossil fuels. If we transport the goods using electric trucks suddenly plastic starts to look much, much worse than paper or even glass.

Aluminum is much better all around so I'm not sure why it's lumped into everything else. It's basically infinitely recyclable and you don't have to use natural gas or propane to heat it up to the melting point for forming/extrusion. There's basically an infinite amount of ways to heat things up; even to really high temperatures.

For those that don't know, this is one popular way of laundering money.

The other is real estate (which is how Trump made his comeback from early business failures).

Because nothing says, "I should have children" than living under an overbearing autocratic government trying to control your life!

Age discrimination is bad.

When everyone gets a subsidy no one gets a subsidy. The price of child care will just adjust upwards to include the tax credit.

The title is all wrong. I actually read this reference-free, made up nonsense article and it actually has nothing at all to say about the Democratic party. It's just a weird stance about Biden being amoral because he isn't pro-forced-birth.

Total garbage.

If people are having no trouble with that they need to start testing tentacles.

we need to change batteries every 2-4 years

Wait, what‽ No. We don't need to change batteries every 2-4 years. That's what you do with TV remote controls and temperature sensors, not electric car batteries, LOL!

Electric car batteries are made to last at least 7 years (from a warranty standpoint) but in reality it's more like 10. Not only that but they're not single, gigantic objects. They're made of lots of "cells" so if one of them is going bad you can replace just that one bad cell.

Anecdote: The batteries in my Prius lasted 15 years before I had to replace one of the cells. Then a year later I had to replace another one. A year after that I sold it so I have no idea how the batteries are doing right now but I'm sure another cell would probably need to be replaced by now 19 years in service).

I'd also like to point out that the latest electric car batteries are vastly superior to the ones in my Prius.
