If she took all these steps, and put herself in legal jeopardy, just to protect Trump and his cronies, why is he still mad at her?

It's because she released them at all. I'm sure he was expecting her to delay the release forever. Or at least until all the lawsuits played out (which could complete after his term).

The underlying truth here is actually just the usual Trump stuff: He doesn't surround himself with competent people. He only chooses people based on perceived loyalty and whims.

I just wanted to point out that Element is no fun! No fun at all!

It works and it works great for what it does. Even voice and streaming are great with Element. It's just got a terrible, no-fun interface and pointless limitations on things like looping videos. You can't even configure it to make them play properly (as in, automatic and endlessly, the way they were meant to be played! 😤).

Looping videos and animated emojis are super fun ways to chat with people. Even in professional settings! It really breaks up the humdrum and can motivate people to chat and share more.

Element is all serious all the time and going into a chat channel there feels like a chore.

Conservatives love the concept that private charities should be the ones who provide, "hand outs" (e.g. free food) and things like health care to those who can't afford it. Except they always conveniently neglect the fact that all the charities in the world combined are but a fraction of a percent of government spending on similar things.

Furthermore, charities cannot hope to match the efficiency of governments providing the same services. Even the most inefficient government agencies have overhead far lower than the best-run charities.

Governments don't have to solicit for donations. They aren't beholden to the market or bad economic times. They can pool bureaucratic resources across multiple programs and take advantage of economies of scale that the biggest charities could only dream of.

The truth is that if you actually want to help the most desperate people of the world, government programs are the most efficient and effective way to do so.

If anyone needs proof that conservatives are so befuddled by reality they'll just make shit up to fit a convenient narrative this story is it. They're blaming a living transgendered pilot for a helicopter/plane crash that had no survivors.

This story is definitive proof that the reason why Donald Trump won the election is because many Americans are so fucking unbelievably stupid they can't tell the difference between a living person and a pile of ash and debris.
