You are right. This could have been on any of the last Metallica albums.

I need to check that out tonight

1000014337Solid work! As usual the guitar work is special and razor sharp.

Many fast songs, some old school bangers and some with a more contemporary flavour.

Sometimes the choruses would profit from a bit more versatility, but that is small criticism. The small guitar melodies are always nice.

I personally could do without the last three songs on the album, but I really do like the great majority.

New album by the German band with really bad luck in name finding.

It's not a super sharp shooter, however it's a good record from the DIY underground guys and ladies.

Current Kreator vibes are heard, however accompanied by lots of gang shouting and generally rougher vocals. I dig the bass that's rattling often in the foreground.

Give it a try!

I think they should have done the vocals differently. More aggression would do good IMO.

All in all the original is far better than this cover version. This is a bit lukewarm, which is a shame, because I love Heathen.

There is a new song by Exumer with a nice oldschool touch to it.

I hope this is pure enough for this valued special interest community.

Another German band, this time combining thrash metal with melodic hardcore parts especially when it's for the choruses.

IMO a quite vivid composition, lively and energetically delivered.

The new record by Exodus. Still they have the best guitar sound in thrash metal in my opinion.

However Exodus have done better than this collection of new songs. IMO it's a solid recording but it misses the last bit of spicyness. There's just one step missing to insanity. And this insanity is what makes brilliant Exodus albums special to me.

Maybe it's because Zetro left once again?

Yes, another post about this great band from the past. I will stop right after this one. 😄

This song is from the album Manic Impressions, which is more technical than Screams and Whispers.

Progressive thrash metal from 1991, highly acclaimed by critics, obviously not so much by the fans. Enjoy it anyway.

Obscura - A Sonication

The newest album of this exceptional Progressive Death Metal band/project recurs to more compact songs than on the former records. Also the overall approach is more melodic.

However with “Sun Eater” you can also find brutally. But IMO it feels a bit out of place on this album.

All songs are great and it is hard to pick a favourite. But I choose “Stardust” https://tidal.com/track/396369829/u

Panzerfaust - The Suns of Perdition Chapter IV

A very dense recording which sparks apocalyptic feelings in me. I first learned about the band when they supported Kanonenfieber, so I’m rather late to the party.

The music is some kind of Black Metal, but not industry standard. To me it feels more like Hell Ambient. I very much dig the arrangement with the two singers, one gnarling, one growling.

The opener of Messiah’s last album. I have to admit that I had forgotten that band until I saw them live a couple of weeks ago. They did a good job and appeared to be very nice guys with a maniac on the bass guitar.

I like their sway between thrash and death metal and their old school sound. This track maybe does not quite represent that, as it’s quite modern to me, however I like it.

A new album by this agile crust punk outfit. Again, the music is heavily influenced by punk, thrash and death.

There is only one motto: fast forward.

I especially like the track “Crushed”, and there is also a nice grindcore piece called “Krokodil”.

These guys have 49 fans on Tidal. Let’s go and push them.
