As someone who creates stuff myself, I know how it is, It's hard to move away from the platforms when there's so many more people that see's your content on them.
I wish I could get half the people that get to see my content on PeerTube but sadly as of the moment it's not the case.
I know it's not as simple as that, but creators are annoyed of these platforms, mirroring your content on the Fediverse is easy through PeerTube and having 'uncensored' or less restricted videos be uploaded onto PeerTube can help.
@rumba This is where we need to showcase things like Patreon and other ways of people making money from people who truly enjoy there work, pay people not corporations.

The main thing that TikTok had going for it was it was open to both left and right contact and it would show you exactly the content you are interested in due to there algorithm.
It being purchased as caused a lot of issues with that feed being laggy and having issues with mostly left wing content spreading what is happening with Ice and stuff.
But yeah a endless scroll-able system isn't for everyone obviously.
If they have money to waste on building a new platform, they have money to put into a instance and press releases for it.

Well I want artists to be paid spotify often doesn't pay them fairly it's one of the reasons I personally try to pay for a direct copy of the music I listen to, to own and use the MP3 in whatever way I see fit (for personal use).
Yeah this isn't good at all especially when they market themselves as secure but just have full access to all the data.
There's gotta be something out there better than these crappy systems ready to throw you under a bus under barely any pressure.

I've been watching Grand Design and trying to finish off Season 2 of Peacemaker.
The next show to start is Suits, seems like a great show from the bits I've seen and could be good.
