In fairness, the Verge has so far been covering this really well - their segment with Christian on the Vergecast was some of the best reporting I've heard about the issue.

I mean, this is just an outright lie right? Multiple devs have talked about how the Reddit team has been in contact to warn in advance of feature changes, and they have most certainly been in the team's mind over the last few years from the time of Alien Blue to today.

The company says more than 80 percent of the top 5,000 communities (by daily active users) are now open.

Would kbin's current non-federation because of cloudflare stuff be stopping the-federation.info from accessing more recent stats?

Any activism groups or anything like that in the UK you'd recommend helping?

I'm in the UK right now but trying to evaluate where I can get to after my uni course. Currently looking at Germany and New Zealand but really, I just want somewhere I can hole up with a partner and feel safe. I don't know where that'll be.

Federation Questions (dataterm.digital)

Hello! I hope this community is the right place to post this. I just had a quick question about federation; I'm trying to set up my account and follow some larger communities like those on lemmy.ml or beehaw.org. When I subscribe to one of those communities from Dataterm, is the entirety of that instance (lemmy.ml, beehaw.org) then federated with this instance? Or just the specific community (e.g., /c/gaming, /c/technology, etc)?

Also, how come some posts have different upvotes or comments depending on the instance theyr're viewed from? For example, this post: Dataterm Version, lemmy.ml version has a huge disparity.
